Super Goofs Team 4 Miles Challenge

Great job today everyone. Way to get out there despite all obstacles!!

I ran on the treadmill today as we are iced over. I am definitely not as brave as Cecilia.

3 miles
30:11 minutes.

I have everyone up to date to here. I put down 4 miles for KiMickey but I need to confirm that and get the time also. Don't forget that your minutes/hours count as well as your miles so try and keep track of both.

This is your inspirational quote for the week: "Running is a big question mark that is there each and every day. It asks you 'are you going to be a wimp or are you gonig to be strong today?'" -Peter Maher

So team, get out there and be strong!!!! :cheer2:

I finally get to post my workout!!!

I finished 10 miles in 1:50.

Great job to everyone for getting those workouts in!!

Now see people were whinning about a few triathletes in the contest racking up to many miles. You pretty princesses are kicking butt, they should have been worrying about you guys. I really did try to put together even teams.

Of course the pretty princesses on Hakuna Matata are much stronger and have way more heart so just do the best you can and maybe a strong second place will be in your future.

Competition Panda:hippie:

*Shooing the panda out the door* We are't skerd of a few dedicated triathletes! If nothing else, it might just spur some of us to find more of our inner athlete! (speaking for myself here mostly :) as many of you already are much more active than I!)

My first day FINALLY:

3 miles 45 minutes.

I think we need to set a rule that you don't have to apologize for not being able to get in a scheduled or planned workout. Life has a way of happening when we are planning what we are going to do! We are all going to have missed chances and someone else will pick up the slack for a day or two here and there. :)

Support is what it is all about!

Go Super Goofs!!! :cheer2:

Laura - I love you!
I was just debating how I was going to come here and tell you guys that I am a hurting unit after yesterday's fitness yoga. I am really sore today. And today was going to be my stretch & strengthen day. I doubt it's such a good idea to do that while I am this sore. So, my plan is to add strength training to one of my run/walk days this week. This way I kind of have a double workout & do not let me team down!

On a good note - this just goes to show how much I NEED xt and have not been doing that!
I am going to stick with this class, it certainly does work.

I truely believe that no appoligies are necessary!!! I had to take a day off, and since I worked out on Friday my day off was yesterday (a very busy family day!:goodvibes )

Today though my totals are:

Hours: 1:00
Miles: 5

I got a beautiful outside run in today, and I am so happy about that! I actually finished in 55:00, so I walked for five more minutes to make it an even hour! (((((taking one for the team!)))))

Beth

Wow! Our team is really moving along! :goodvibes :cheer2:

Rest day for me today.

Steve (nukeman) miles/hours:

1.5 hours (walking and XT)
3 miles

5.5 miles for me (58 minutes for 4 of them). Of course on the TM, as it's blizzarding again.

Up to date to here. And, yes, no apologies...ever...we are all in it to do our best and that is what we all expect from each other. Life is what it is and as a team of primarily women, I think we all know that it takes over quite frequently. I do think it is great to hear everyone cheering on the team whether you are working out or not.

HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE!! :thumbsup2

Steve did some biking and stair stepper this morning for 50 minutes and 5 miles.

I will be hitting the gym this afternoon!!

4.67 miles today- our pace can be classified as DRAGGING. We finished in 52 minutes. When I refer to we/our I am including my running partner- my golden retriever. It was a balmy 40 degrees outside and muddy. She is quite filthy but happy. Its been a little while since we have been able to run outside due to the NH weather so Bella is a tad out of shape.
Just a quick question- do you want daily recordings or weekly?

Thank you Team Captain for doing this!

Anyone up for the Vermont Marathon this year? I'm thinking about it.

Hi
Details of my humiliating attempt at cross training can be read on the weekly thread. Sigh. I would type more, but my arms really hurt. Sigh.

Put me down for 30 minutes weigh lifting and 30 minutes of swimming (the class was a hour long:rolleyes1 ) I swam 10 laps in a 50 meter pool so that is 1000 meters right? and that is about .62 miles. Oh now that just adds to the humiliation.

Cecilia

Cecilia: We do what we do remember. No regrets here. You may feel like you attempted cross training but some people never cross train at all. It is certainly not my strong point either but I still do it because it makes be a better runner and a better person. You still rock and we still love you over here!!!

Joanne: Weekly or daily, whatever works for you. I keep a log of my workouts but I know not everyone does so for those people, daily would probably work better. If you do want to post weekly, please let me know so I don't think you just fell off the planet or something. I do enjoy hearing from everyone daily whether you are working out or not!! Oh and yes, I considered Vermont but decided on the Great Bay Half instead. How about that one????

I made it outside today. It was 35 here and sunny but the roads were for crap and my sneaks are dry due to Gore Tex but my socks are wet due to deep puddles. My son has had a cold which I now have inherited, sore throat, headache, general aches and yucky feeling. So, I MADE myself go outside in the colder air and I MADE myself run. As evidenced by my blistering pace of 3.02 (yes I am claiming the .02 dang it) in 34:58. I would have been better off to slide on the ice!!!!!:sad2:

Kristi: I hope your soreness has eased up. Sometimes even though it hurts, it is best to stretch when you are that sore to move the lactic acid build up in your muscles. Feel better soon!!:flower3:

One person's slowness would be amazing for me! Just keep in mind what you ARE acomplishing everyone. You all are amazing to me!

30 minutes of Curves (which is about all the cross training I will get for a long time) and 2 miles - 20 minutes walking/running 1 out of 10 minutes.

(If you decide on a standard you want for reporting - let us know :) )

:surfweb:

Laura: I have no standard. My DD13 calls me "random". I am a fly by the seat of my pants kind of girl so again I defer to whatever works for you personally. I love hearing from everyone daily so we can keep encouraging each other to continue our efforts. :thumbsup2

Laurie: I just got an answer to your question about your games counting and yes they do so log your time that you play and have fun!!!

See....random....:upsidedow

Hi Goofer buddies:flower3:

Y'all getting your steps in? I know it's hard to stay pumped knowing how bad the whippin is gonna be. After Hakuna Matata makes y'all tame will you still love us?

Visiting Panda:hippie:

Just popping in again. Normally, I'd be all about the trash-talking, my little way of motivating y'all. But one, it doesn't look like you need any motivating. Two, it looks like WWDave is cornering the market on the trash-talking game. And three, the real reason I'm dropping by is to give a big shout-out and thank you to LISA, who issued the Super Goof challenge on the weekly thread.

The challenge is SUCH a good idea that I gleefully liberated it and took it to the Ohana thread! I'll be adding yoga to my routine for flexibility & strength, and I'm hoping your words will inspire my teammates as well as the Super Goofs! Thanks for posting it in the general thread for all of us. :thumbsup2

Good training, everyone! You're all doing fabulous!
