Super Goofs March Challenge

Lisa, having no formal training, just reading books and boards, I basically run as long as I can breathe, walk until I catch my breath, and start over, I dont have times, though I'd like to, but trying to watch my watch, remember to breath, and keep track of if it was run time or walk time, well, it was just too much for me. I WANT to run longer and walk less, but haven't quite gotten there...I am stubborn though, and refuse to give up. Sometimes I'm intimidated by all you speed demons, but figure I'm still doing more than most people I know, and that's what counts.

Angie, doll, you have the true heart of an athlete. You set the pace and I am going to be right there with you for the full 13.1

Hey Goofs it's me again. I'm sending you guys another player. You had a few that were not posting so this should get you guys up to par again. Please welcome Dona, DONAC. She is in Jersey, that is in New England right?

Happy Panda.:hippie:

Welcome to all the new team members!!!!

Please add:

Wednesday...45 mins treadmill/2.07 miles ( I don't remember if I posted this already)

Thursday...30 mins treadmill/1.35 miles

Happy Friday!

What do you mean New England? I am Mid Atlantic girl. Jersey born and bred. I am near the town where Springstein is playing tonight to raise money for a local theater.

Please someone tell me what I signed up for. I am a member of the Biggest Loser 4 thread and I came across a thread about an exercise challenge.

I will introduce myself tomorrow morning when I have some time to play on the computer. I need to get home and get something to eat before I get to ds's school to get costumes ready for tonight's performance of Beauty and the Beast.

:welcome: to all the new members! Welcome!

Good morning Super Goofs!! I really wish I had the time and money to travel around and be everyone's trainer. It would be so much fun and I cannot think of better clients. The best ones are those who actually WANT to work for their results!!

Welcome Dona! You are signed up for the mileage/hours challenge created by our own illustrious (or is that industrious) Panda. You may post your time and/or mileage daily or weekly, however you would like. We enjoy hearing from everyone and keeping track of what we are all doing so the more often you post the more often you get our loving support. If you have a record of what you have done from March 1 through yesterday, please feel free to post it and I will add it to this week's totals. Otherwise, start today and we will rock on!!! :rockband:

Here are my totals so far this week. I will post to the spreadsheet sometime today:
PrincessRunner (Lisa): 22.59/5:12
Escape (Susie): 19.00/2:50
ArelysAdriana: 0
CreativeBeth (Beth): 25.00/6:10
CruelladeMom (Cecilia): 31.50/2:51
DirtyBunny: 0
Donac (Dona): 0
GroovyGirls (Joanne): 16.07/4:18
HockeyGirl (Laurie): 0
jmasgat (Maura): 11.00/3:50
Kristi1357 (Kristi): 7.00/1:33
lllovell (Laura): 0
MickeyHead (Chad): 0
Nukeman (Steve): 12.90/2:10
Pungodingy (Angie): 15.00/8:13
Raenstoirm (Carla): 0
SAP1227 (Christy): 2.00/:55
Steve: 0

Please post any updates or errors today so I can get it right for the spreadsheet. The sheet locks up my computer and causes it to run really slow so I like to do it once and get all my cussin over with at once!!

Oh, and I ended up running yesterday. Hey, it was 45 degrees!!! I ran out to get DHs pickup again. Last week, 3.7 miles in 43:25 and this week under the new and motivated plan, 3.7 miles in 37:42. YAY!!! And I also lost a pound this week which is a MAJOR feet for me!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Today is rain and yuck and muck and 6 miles. Hello TM, here I come......:sad2:
SuzanNews (Suzanne): 6.50/5:06

Updating my run...the sun came out...it was 40 degrees...and I ran like the wind Bullseye (well not really but kind of fast for me!).

5.93 miles in 59:08. Thats a 9:58 average!!! :cool1: My FIL was waiting for me at a local store to bring me home, hence my not finishing my full 6 but, close enough!! No rain, running outside, no wet feet and under a 10 mpm....

:woohoo: PRICELESS:woohoo:

Good Saturday morning.

I came to introduce myself. I am donac (Dona) from the Biggest Loser 4 thread. I have been involved with the WISH board for a few years now.

I am a almost 53 year old married women from central New Jersey. I live less than 2 miles to the beach. My dh and I will be married 30 years this AUg. We have two ds's, one almost 23 and one almost 18. The 23 ds is due to graduate from college in May and the ds2 will graduate high school in June and go to college starting in Sept.

I have been at the same job for 31 years and am still enjoying it. I teach high school mathematics. These days mostly Advanced Placement Calculus. I have some of the nicest kids in the school and it is fun to teach them. AS one class said yesterday "Most classes would not say anything if the teacher forgot to assign them homework. We ask for it." They may be the a bunch of nerd but they can be fun and it is great to be able to help them reach some goals before they go to college.

My weight has been a problem since high school. I had it under control until I had my 2nd son and then it kept creeping up and up. 2005 I hit a high and the school had a biggest loser contest and I entered. I won the first month and I have been going down and then some up ever since. In summer of 2006 I hit a nice low but it did nothing for my cholesterol or my blood pressure so I think I kind of gave up. I never went back to my high so I am still ahead of the game but I want to go back to that low and get even lower.

My exercise plan for March actually starts tomorrow. The last three weeks I have been very invovled with ds2's school play Beauty and the Beast. Tonight is closing night and tomorrow is the put away day. Most days I have gone to work at my regular job, coming home and grabbing a quick dinner and then off to work on costumes at ds's school. Some days I have been going in to work on 4 hours of sleep. BUt it has been a great runn and I will be sorry to see it close.

I can't wait to get to know people.

MY exercise plan is to do yoga in the morning and take a walk in the afternoon so I will be recording both times and miles.

Welcome Dona. Glad to get to meet you. You do sound like a busy Mom. There are a bunch of us here! I also am married.....12 years.....with 2 ds. Oldest ds is 11 and youngest is 9.

This is a good group of people and everyone here has stepped up to the challenge. Glad to have another on board.

Good luck with getting your Yoga and walk in!

Beth

I am just really stressed out with various life-taking-over issues and haven't been able to get in the work outs lately. I have been even more stressed thinking about how I am letting my team down.

I think it's best if I step down from this game and let someone else in that wants to play, and has the time available to do so. Right now, life for me is just too crazy.

And since I decided to drop out yesterday, I have felt a weight lifted off my shoulders, so I know it's the right thing to do. WWDave will be coming up with someone to replace me.

I am really going to miss talking to you guys on this thread! :sad1:

I promise to keep working out as much as I can and will report in on the good ole main thread. And yes, I will still be doing Great Bay!

Take care guys,
Kristi

Kristi Sorry you're dropping off, but don't feel bad. I don't view this group challenge thing as a "take no prisoners" exercise, but rather a way to just try to connect with a smaller group of people. So who cares if we don't win (oh, oh, now I'll get it!)

Dona :welcome: Hope you have fun with all of this. Are you in training for anything in particular?

Lisa :jumping1: Congrats on your run and making that 10 mpm goal. That's a great result and it's always good to reach these milestones--keeps us happy! So break out the chocolate (or happy food of choice) and celebrate!

As for me, I took DH advice and ran at the gym this morning instead of outside. We seemed to have dodged the bullet on major snow, but it's still windy and a little slippery. Today was my 6 mile run/walk day. I did 6.1 miles in 61 minutes and another 10 minutes of stretching. If I can make it through the 6-mile run next weekend, I may consider signing up for a 10k in April. We'll see.

Hi Everyone -

Horrible leg pain cut my long run short today. So it ends up like this:

6.02 in 1:02:39

Hopefully it was just my legs reacting to the cold

Good evening group! I did get my 5 miles in on the TM today! Yippee! The weather was very WINDY and rainy today, so I stayed inside and did the TM instead of being brave and going outside.

Time 65:00 min

Miles 5.00

Beth

Well good morning I guess Super Goofs.

Kristi:  I WISH you would reconsider and just take a hiatus and come back to us when things get settled. You will be sadly missed. Please check on us once in awhile. You will always be part of this team!!

Cecilia: pixiedust: No injuries!!!! I am hoping it was just the cold. Did you get any of the snow I saw on the news???

Lynnielou: :welcome: Hop in and give us a short bio of yourself. Our week runs from Saturday to Friday. You can post daily or once a week. I try to do the spreadsheet on Saturday, barring any incidents at my home, so your totals by the end of the week are appreciated.

Well, we have lost quite a few members in the last few weeks. I am greatly saddend by this and feel like a failure as your leader. I have not heard from HockeyGirl, lllovell, and MickeyHead this week. ArelysAdriana, we have not heard from you since you were sent to the team. If anyone has not posted for a month, the rule is that you are automatically replaced so if you are just in a lull, you should let me know that so you do not get replaced. I cherish each and every member of this team. You are all important.

For me, this challenge is about getting out there and getting it done. By being held accountable to this team, I am not blowing off my workouts. I have also been more conscientious about stretching, eating and other building blocks in my life. I hope that others are getting similar results from participating in this challenge and not feeling like it is a burden to them. :flower3:

Hi Goofs, Pesky Panda around again to annoy everyone.

As Lisa said the games are supposed to help us stay focused on our health plan. A place to find others who understand and care. The game should never be a burden. Once in a while life things get in the way and you can't do it, you wanna and you know you need to but you just don't have the mental and physical energy. So if that happens it's ok to take a break for as long as you need to. There is always going to be a place to come back to when you are ready.

It's times like these that we actually need our friends more than ever. It doesn't matter if it's to strut about a PR or vent about life kicking you around.

I tried to make the teams pretty even with some big guns on each and a lot of up and coming talent. Also some surprises. You guys have some awesome players and personalities. I'll make sure anyone that needs a break will get a replacement if they want it, but if you just need to cut back the miles and hours for an injury or sickness the rest of the team can cover for you. My team has been covering for Erica and I since we have both been under the weather since Goofy. You just need to let the commanding officer, Lisa know so she can do extra miles to cover. (No Shooting the Panda and making a rug Lisa).
