I am all caught up with miles to here. I am going to post a longer report later today but Great Bay was awesome. My SIL and I met Chad on the out and back portion of the race and he was flying. I knew he was headed for a good time.
I too have to state very loudly how intensely proud I am of Angie. She was in pain and you could see it. I pulled my Achilles during the race and was only able to do the last few yards with them. What a trooper she was. And she should be screaming from the rooftops that SHE DID IT. What an accomplishment. I am, however, going to do some blister research and see if we cannot stop those from happening. I have one on the outside of each big toe but that is from the toe box of my sneaks being slightly tight. I had to pop one on the way home because it was either that or I should name it, it was HUGE!!
I am very proud of Kristi also. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for pulling Angie through this. You were so wonderful to stick by her side and keep her going. And they were not DLF. There was someone still to come behind them while we were getting medals. Did you ever find the 1st time medals? I would email if you did not.
As for me, I got pushed way out of my comfort zone running. My Sport Beans were not cutting it. I felt very dehydrated but in reality was over-hydrated. At mile 12, I had to get gruff with my SIL and send her on while I walked up a hill with my right arm over my head wondering if I needed to step off the side and stick my finger down my throat. I had such intense pressure in my diaphragm that I pulled muscles holding it in. They are still sore today. My legs are killing me. I tend to slow pace up hills but my SIL does not break pace no matter what and pushed me further and harder than I had been before. She finished in 2:13, I finished in 2:18. My WDW time was 2:31 so still with the pain and the need to walk, I crushed my last time for a new PR. I am filled with happiness.
Chad, Kristi and Angie, you all rock beyond belief. My DH told everyone how nice you all were. He has now tentatively agreed to let me run TOT

so he can meet the rest of the motley crew!! Joanne, I did get your message, albeit late. I was having trouble getting voicemails down there, Kristi can verify that. She left me on the morning of the race and as we were walking the walkers out, my voicemail tone went off after quite a delay. Sorry to have missed you and I hope you are less sore than I am today!!
GREAT JOB EVERYONE!! And especially to you Angie, you persevered and finally met your goal. You completed a half marathon and how many people can say that!!! Name a blister after me!!
