Pre Easter week trip - Family of Four
Day 1: Arrived at CBR - weather was balmy.flight was smooth, check in was super and early. Checked out the hotel - we enjoy the relaxed carribean theming of this hotel. The food court is so handy and the food and service is good. The pool's more suited for young kids though. Mine were not that anxious to hang out there. That night we drove to the Hoop De Doo Review (thanks Drusba for the great directions) Loved that show, food was suprisingly good and we all got into it. Put us in a perfect Disney mood.
Day 2: MK - Up and out early for MK. We got on everything quickly - rode the mountains with no FP. Checked out Carousel of Progress and Hall of Presidents - my kids (11 and 16 ) loved those shows...had lunch and walked around a bit more. Did Pirates but was disappointing with out a little one. We had enough by 2:00 and it was getting hot and crowded so we left. Ate at CBR - great selections and crashed early as we hadn't gotten much sleep the night before take off.
Day 3: TL - We loved this water park. The waves are huge and powerful. Kids loved the slides and it felt good to get sun in March...At night we went back to CBR and relaxed, grabbed a bite to eat and went to MGM for Fantasmic. That was a great show and I'm glad we did it, but wouldn't feel the need to go back on another trip. (We drove everywhere this time and it was so simple and I think quicker)
Day 4: MGM - This is one of my favorite parks just for the 40's feel. We did Millionaire (great time but didn't get picked), Muppets, Backlot tour and then just walked around to enjoy the sets and scenery. Oh and kids did tot but not rnr coaster. Had a late lunch at Prime Time Cafe and that was great. Food is good - down home cooking and the waitress was into it so she made it alot of fun. I tried to clean my plate and even thought of putting my leftovers on my son's plate but the waitress came and fed me one bite...kids loved that! I love the decos there too. That night we packed up to move early the next day to YC for 2nd half of our stay.
Day 5: Epcot and YC - We were thoroughly impressed with YC. Room was so bright and big...loved the balconey with the water view. The pool is just awesome. We all loved that pool and slide. I think the water was warmer than at CBR too. The sand bottom is great and the whole thing is beautiful. My only complaint about YC is the lack of ability to grab a quick meal. To be honest I'm not impressed with Beaches and Cream - too crowded. We got take out breakfast at Tubbies - and brought it back to the room many mornings. We had breakfast at Cape May and it was very good and lunch at Hurricane Hanna's was good too.
Epcot was great - tried to do TT but were too late - fast passes were sold out. So we did Honey I shrunk...Cranium Command, Body Wars and some other sites. Then walked back to YC to check in at 2:00 pm. That afternoon we swam at SAB and ate at ESPN. That was a great thrill for my son who is a huge Sports Center fan. Food was good too. WE walked the Boardwalk at night which I think is a great advantage to staying in one of those hotels. There is so much to do at night. Agter dinner at Espn we walked to Epcot to see TOD and Illuminations...both worth seeing.
Day 6: It was such a beautiful day we spent the day at the pool and enjoyed it thoroughly. We also rented the Water mice which the kids loved. We had done that at Carribean but I think it's more fun at YC because you can see more like the ferry's and MGM. Then at night we let the kids get a pizza at the Boardwalk and play at the arcades while hubby and I went to eat at a few of the countries...tried Japan, China and Germany. Also took in the Norway show - I don't get the attraction to that at all! Met the kids at the Boardwalk and went to golf at Fantasia - again we could walk - what convenience.
Day 7: My son and I were up early and saw all the characters in the lobby - Timon, Goofy, Balou and some others. We were able to get our pictures taken since there was no line. Then we ran to Epcot to get FP for TT. Then went back for Cape May character breakfast -= then went to Epcot to catch the time we had for TT. Poked around Epcot somemore - my favorite park - then relaxed in the lazy river and whirlpool - (well i did , my kids were on that water slide) at the pool. At night we took in some countries at Epcot - American Adventure was great - I would recommend that ) visited France and loved the Living Statues. Then went to Boardwalk to rent a surrey - I recommend that too.
Day 8: Homeward bound. We had an unbelievable trip - everything went better than I imagined. I was panicking over the threat of crowds - and I guess it was crowded but it never seemed to darken anything we did. Disney is a big place and they can handle it. Plus everyone at Disney -from the resorts to the parks was in a great mood...maybe the weather or maybe just glad people are coming back again. I can't think of anything I would do differently - we loved splitting the resorts - made it like two mini vacations and we loved different things about both of them. Thanks for all your help in planning this trip.
