Well, hi back at ya! I am in Littleton too :goodvibes Seems to be a fair amount of us CO people here on the DIS!

Hi neighbor!! I'm in Centennial so we truly are neighbors.

I wanted to add that I think there are a LOT of Disney lovers in CO. Have to share a "small world" story that is just CRAZY!

So last year we went on the Disney Wonder in March to the Mexican Riviera. I was at the "adult only" pool catching some rays when the woman next to me struck up a conversation about something..don't even remember what right now. As we were talking a woman on the other side of me joined in the conversation. After about 15 minutes of talking about the ship, etc. she asked me (the original lady I was talking to) where I was from. I said "Colorado" she said..NO WAY!! I'm from CO too!! I said..NO WAY! The lady next to me said.."so am I" I was like REALLY??? NO WAY!!!

So she said "where" I said "Centennial" she says I'm in Littleton..I was like wow we really are neighbors. So I said where in Littleton? She says her cross streets..I was like..WHAT??? I told her mine. We LITERALLY live less than 2 miles away from eachother...randomly met and started chatting on a boat in the middle of the ocean!! The other lady lived in Denver but still not more than 15 minutes from us. Interesting thing is that this lady told me that she had met a lot of people from Colorado on the ship and I actually met a few others as well.

Just wanted to say Hi fellow Coloradoans..anybody else a Native?? :)

Not a native but got here as quick as I could! Stationed in Colorado Springs for 2 years in 1996-1999 and then moved back in 2008. I love it here!

I love it here too! If I didn't love it SO much..I'd already be working for Disney Corporate in Burbank! I want to work there SOOOOOO bad but I literally cannot stomach the thought of living anywhere but here. Absolutely LOVE it!! :worship:

Isn't that amazing how high flights are from such a short distance, really?

I used to live in Plano so really just waving at ya ;) Hope your flights come down in price!!
Waving back! :)

Then you know how ridiculously overpriced flying from Dallas is. I was all excited when Southwest was finally able to fly to Florida but now I say why? :confused3

That is a CRAZY story!! That must have been so cool!

I am not a native to CO. I'm from Texas. Moved here when I was 22 and I'm 37 now, so 15 years and it feels like home :) I do miss Texas at times though. I just know if we did move back to Texas, we'd miss CO so much that we'd probably spend all our vacation money coming here for visits. Such a great place to live and truly wonderful place to raise children.

It is expensive out of Dallas! My in-laws are going with us and I think they are flying United. Part of it is cause Southwest was still very high but also they live in Flower Mound and didn't want to have to drive to Love Field when DFW is almost in their backyard. Dallas seems to just stay high...maybe cause of the Wright Amendment...is that still in place?

I'm not sure. It is supposed to be phased out gradually but I couldn't tell you where they are right now.

I've checked United but they are so far the most expensive for me. I'll take anyone but American though!

My IL's booked months ago so not sure what the fares were like back then. I also think they really wanted to avoid driving to Love Field and having to drive back once getting home so they easily could have paid more. But I'm pretty sure at the time, Southwest was higher.

I haven't flown American in years! I used to fly them & Delta all the time. But once we moved out here to CO, it was United or Frontier until Southwest came in.

Wow - I'm in Littleton too! I didn't realize how many CO folks were on here!!

Nothglenn, Colorado here. I booked SW for our Dec. trip at $110 each way. Much less expensive than our trip last month!

Was able to get in on this one too.

I got round trip airfare for me and DH from Bham to Orlando for $218.

It was $49 down there and $60 back. The return trip is not nonstop but its still less than 4 hours. To drive it, it takes us an average of 12hrs. And I dont think we could buy gas for 218 round trip.

Now I have to shuffle my dates at All Star Music. Still hoping for a free dining pin. Or I have been considering staying off site at the Rodeway Inn. We can get a room for $165 TOTAL for 5 nights but would either need a rental car or taxi to get to the parks.... Decisions, decisions, decisions.

I hope you get the pin or the rate at Rodeway is GREAT!! Either way..glad you got in on the flights! :thumbsup2

DH, DD & I were going to drive from NV to DL until the fare sales on Southwest came out this week. I had gifted some of my SW points to my DD for her family to take their first trip and when the fares came down, I rebooked their flights and it gave me enough points back to book for my family. I only spent a total of $72 for 3 of us to fly r/t, less than a tank of gas for our suv.

We will fly into Orange County which rarely goes on sale. So happy to see this sale:banana:

As much as I said I wouldn't be checking fares...I still do on occasion :rotfl: I haven't seen anything close to the deals we got when this thread started. And the so called "Anniversary Sale" that was to happen in June..I didn't see anything about that. Anyone see lower fares that maybe I missed?

Just glad I got my tickets when I did!! :cool1:

Airfare is awful! I booked a one way down to Florida in November for the good price but I can't find anything under $200 for the trip back....stupid flying back on a Sunday of Veteran's day weekend. :) Oh well, I gotta see Big Bad Voodoo Daddy!

Jill in CO

I check fares all the time still. About every 3 days. I've still been hoping our return flight would drop a bit but today it was $253! We got it for $185. I've never seen the flights as low as when this thread was started. I am just SO glad we booked back then :cool1:

And, nope, never heard or saw anything about their anniversary sale :confused3

We were able to get a really good deal with the Southwest Anniversary Sale in June....
We weren't even planning a trip to Disney this year but when I found the flights with SW I couldn't resist asking DH for an end of Summer adventure :thumbsup2.

From Cleveland to MCO we snagged $216.20 per person. Our last couple of trips to MCO and FLL have each been over $1K for our family of four. It does help that I had a voucher for my ticket so 4 of us heading to Disney for under $650! :goodvibes

When was the anniversary sale? I'm on the SWA e-mail notification system and never got any word or heard of the sale :crazy2:
