I just booked DEN to MCO for $219 per person! We are going late Sept and I check flights pretty much everyday - both Frontier and Southwest had this price:thumbsup2

Not sure what other airports are available but flying out of DEN is so expensive - I know there are other CO peeps here that could take advantage of this deal :grouphug:

$219 Round trip?? Last time I checked DEN to MCO it was that each way on Southwest!! Wish I was planning a trip!

Thanks for posting! Was able to get my flight down on SW for $110. Too bad the schedule isn't open yet for the flight back. :)

I know! I check so often and was pretty down about prices, yesterday I almost had a heart attack when I saw the prices ::yes::

Awesome! Maybe it is a CO deal, I knew there were a few of us on the board and could use it.

Interesting. We are driving to Denver this summer to catch a cheaper flight to LAX for Disneyland again this year. We are saving over $1000 by driving 8 hrs and parking the mini van and catching a 2 hr flight.

Any good suggestions on hotels close to the Denver Airport? We are a family of five. Is it worth it to drive down to Pike's Peak for the day?

Hi Mike!

I'm originally from KC and moved here about 4 years ago. That is a heck of a drive!

Pikes Peak will be about 1 1/2 hour drive from the airport area. We joke that DIA is in Kansas sort of like KCI being in Iowa. :) I would suggest driving up to Mt Evans instead. It is straight west of Denver on I-70...get off the highway at Idaho Springs and then drive up to Mt Evans (its paved as opposed to Pikes Peak which is dirt) Mt Evans is cheaper than PP and offer similar views/scenery....Mt Evans just doesn't have the cog railroad. Idaho Springs is a cool mining town right off the highway and there is whitewater rafting in Clear Creek, Colorado pizza a Beau Jeau's, and some touristy shops, etc.

Economy parking (Pikes Peak lot) at the airport is about $7/day now. DIA is a super easy airport but has the single security checkpoint unlike KCI. Can't help much with hotels as I live in Denver and just drive to the airport...there are quite a few chains nearby the airport with shuttles.

PM me if you have any other questions.

PS...drop me off some Oklahoma Joe's BBQ on your way. :)

We live about 2 hrs from the airport so when we have an early flight we stay in Denver overnight. On our April trip we stayed at Staybridge Suites - super close to the airport, clean and big rooms (living room and separate bedroom) with a small kitchen. Best part was that you can leave your car there for free (we left it there for 10 days) :thumbsup2 They have a shuttle every half hour from the hotel to the airport. When you get back just call the hotel and they will go pick you up - they are about 15 minutes away so we did not wait very long for our ride.

Thanks for posting this!! We had already booked our flights but were able to get a credit on our flight to Orlando. Our return flight was cheaper when we booked it a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks for the heads up. Not sure how comfortable I would be leaving my car at a hotel I only spent one night at?

I will check all of this information out. Thanks so much! My son is a Pizza nut so that might work out wonderfully.

I do love my KC BBQ! Any good ones out in Denver?

Good to hear about the DIA being easy to navigate but I don't think anything would be easier than KC's airport. Get off your plane and your luggage is right there. Crazy.

Good BBQ in Denver is few and far between. :) The Rib House in Longmont is excellent (run by a KC couple) and I like the Smokin' Yard in Idaho Springs. Sadly neither is very close to me. Jabo's in Centennial is excellent...pit BBQ piled on top of a hot dog or smoke sausage...I can only eat there about once a year or I have a heart attack. :)

Thanks so much!! I booked early this morning and saved $700 on my flights!
:worship: That is awesome! I am bringing this back to the first page since the prices are still there - although for my dates there is only one flight each way at the $220 r/t price. After that they are over $200 each way :scared:

I wish they would drops the prices on more flights...I know, I should be thankful for what I got and really, I am. Gonna keep watching though cause on our return home, it's still $199 for that leg. Because we will be traveling with 4 children, one of which will only be 17 mos, we aren't willing to do layovers.

Looking now..I have a feeling our return flight isn't available yet..omg I hope it is! That's a GREAT Fare!!! I live in Centennial..anyone in my neck of the woods?

WOW!! So my dates are ALMOST available...GRRRR!!! Our departure is 10/26 and our return is 11/4..but the Southwest flights only go up to 11/2. Here is my question...since Southwest has no change fees..should I go ahead and book the flight and watch/wait to change the date? Then incur any additional fees? This is SUPER cheap and I don't want to miss out on a deal..advice??

Hey neighbor! I work in Greenwood Village and live in South Denver. :wave2:

SW is great that you can book one way with no penalty or extra fees. I booked my flight down on 11/2 and now I"m waiting for the rest of the schedule to be released....hopefully in a couple of weeks.

Go ahead and book the departure flight, no one says they have to be linked together. Just print up your paper work, so you have both confirmations. Heck, we even travel with different airlines for the best deal.
