Super Bowl 44 Predictions

I am sorry for all the suffering that NO has gone thru and am happy for them that they have bonded forever behind their team. I don't know why anyone thinks that has a thing to do with "deserving" to win the SB.

I've never heard anyone from New Orleans say that the Saints "deserve" to go to the Super Bowl for such things. They had an awesome season & won the playoff games. That's why they deserve to go to the Super Bowl. They also have an incredible team & that's why they will win. :goodvibes I love the Manning boys, but even their father (our old #8) will be rooting for us somewhere on the inside, lol.

For the other comments, I do recall an old idiom: Those who live in glass houses...(you know the rest). It's something that I always try to remember for myself as well.

WOW serieously; as the old saying goes talk is cheap....ACTION speaks louder than WORDS.

I don't recall anyone saying the Saints were entitled to win due to hurricane Katrina and it's aftermath. I do however think they're saying that the team and this city have both experienced alot of pain and suffering over the past 5 years and that this winning season has brought happiness and joy to a city struggling to recover.

Let the best team win; GEAUX Saints!!!!

It's football, and it doesn't matter what a city has been through etc. In football there is no "destiny". People could've said that it was for the Colts in 2005 after Dungy lost his son right before the playoffs, which I feel is a bigger blow to a team then a hurricane. But its football, the guys who step up, and want it, and play the better game.

The colts are Indianapolis. That's why they got a new stadium, and now we are getting the Superbowl in a few years. We love our football, which is crazy since Indiana is known for loving our basketball.

The thing that makes me the proudest about being a colts fan is there are no gimmicks. We've had the classiest head coach, and we don't worry about the trade drama. They make normal guys into stars. You didn't get drafted? No big deal, you can be a pro bowler. :thumbsup2
Only something like 8 guys have ever played for another team. And our rookie receivers are kicking some butt! Blue with pride. :cloud9:

Hey now, don't group everyone into the same category. I was never mean spirited and honestly haven't really seen ANYONE on this thread be mean spirited. Its harmless football banter. Good for the Saints for having some awesome fans!

However, the Colts fans aren't known as being some of the classiest in the NFL for no reason...every fan I've met has been super gracious of other fans.

May the best "man" win!

unfortunately that will be us ;) :lmao:
Amen. Indy fans are the best. If they lose we don't go around trash talking the guys out there playing etc. We don't go trolling around.

Tell that to some of the posters here.

The Saints fans here are doing the same exact thing. As in trolling, in football world, it means going to another teams message board and starting drama.

And I won't judge one tragedy to be "greater" than another. I have to say, the last few weeks have really opened my eyes to how SOME people view New Orleans and its residents- how sad.

We have an amazing head coach in Sean Payton- 2 NFC Championships games (1 won, 1 lost) in 4 years. After 42 years of being on the losing end, I am going to indulge myself and ask, "What if?????" and "Maybe this year..." The bond between the Saints and this city is so strong- you notice it in Sean Payton's, Drew Brees', and the other teammates' talks about winning. They want this FOR the city, AFTER what the city has been through. I hope Katrina is ALWAYS brought up, because maybe people out there will realize how much still needs to be done.

In this thread they are doing the same thing.
People don't view New Orleans badly, but just because a city was ruined (my father lives in Florida, and they still haven't recovered from a Hurricane), doesn't mean a Superbowl is deserved. :confused3
The comparison to Dungy's son is, the whole team lost someone they knew personally, during the season.

Indy won the Superbowl 2 years ago FOR the city. We had a horrible team for a time, and then finally got so close. They do tours all over the state etc.

And, again, no one said we DESERVED the win the Superbowl b/c of Katrina- or that we deserve it at all. If (when!) we win, it will be because we played better on Feb 7. Many team players lost people they knew during Katrina- some of the players are from La. and the surrounding areas- again, one tragedy does not "trump" another's...both tragic and life changing. I LOVE Tony Dungy and think he was one of the greatest coaches ever in this game.

I have not read in this thread anyone putting down Indianapolis, its players or its team- just to clarify.

I'm mostly a lurker, but I LOVE the Colts and football in general. So, when I see my beloved quarterback in a pink tutu, that's when I come up for air!:) Or, when I see someone say the only reason he won the MVP is because of his name---oh no, no, no:sad2:, I'm going to have to comment on that. Those may have been viewed as bashing to some, but I'm just trying to talk football and show the "other" side.

I don't think there is trolling or haters on this thread, but the give and take definitely goes both ways.

As for destiny, I gave up on that a long time ago. I'm a Cubs fan:sad2:, so either destiny is hogwash or the Cubs destiny is to lose. I also agree that I thought it was the Colts destiny to win after Tony's son died and that couldn't have turned out worse.:sad1:

To those who appreciate the Manning family, I know that the fans here don't wish him injury, nor would they appreciate their team doing that. Unfortunately, Gregg Williams doesn't have that same sense of appreciation and neither do the defenders. In light of some of William's comments, there will continue to be skepticism from Colts fans and from the media until the game is played. Truthfully, if Williams would have kept quiet, there would be nothing for the media to talk about. I haven't heard of Sean Payton or any of the players trash talking and that's what I fully expected. When the Saints won, DH and I both said there wouldn't be trash talking in the media this week because neither team behaves that way.

I always think the Colts are going to win, but I never assume a win is a given. There really isn't an underdog this year since both #1 teams reached the superbowl.

I don't think any person can't agree that Peyton is the greatest QB playing the game right now. He might not be the best in certain places, but all around, no one runs the offensive by themselves, no one can mount a comeback like Peyton etc. He's just the greatest, and he worked hard for it. It's disrespectful to say he didn't earn it this year, he won every game, and led some amazing comebacks that only peyton could do. 14 points down with 4 minutes? No problem. No one else has done it. He's P-Money! He worked for it too. :lovestruc

DH and I were just talking about the Greg William's interview- has anyone ever heard the interview in its entirety or just quotes from it? Some Tennessee residents were calling our local radio station today and saying they heard the entire interview, and what is being reported is NOT the context of the interview. They also said that Williams sounded like a passionate coach- the kind of coach any team would be lucky to have. We have not heard the questions the interviewers were asking.

It's a slow news week, the media is creating drama in building up to the big game, and many people are falling for the tricks!!!

A lot of people have read it, excuses excuses, there are none for saying you hope a player doesn't get off the field. You don't see ANY colts players saying something that crappy. People aren't "falling" for anything. The guy said what he said.

As Peyton said "We kept our mouths closed, and went to work" :cool2:

That doesn't prove anything. The MVP is the guy that the team needs, and the reason the Colts made all the comebacks was Peyton Manning. No one else is better at taking apart the defense. The #1 Defense last week, and they won by more then a field goal. GOAT

A link to what? What Peyton said? IT was on TV.

Check it- do you mean WILLIAMS? You said "a lot of people have read the interview". I am asking you to PROVE it by providing a link to the interview IN ITS ENTIRETY. Otherwise, you're just talking out of your....y'know

Let. me. type. very. slowly. for. you. so. you. understand. my. post. I said, "Thought this (these stats) are interesting" I did not say any of the following: These stats prove something, our QB is better than yours, Peyton is not a good QB, etc.

And I do not know what GOAT means.
