I would have loved to take advantage of free dining at Disney, but late August and college starting up don't mix.
So we will be heading to the great state of Maine for our vacation this summer. We are renting a place close to Goose Rocks Beach, Kennebunkport. :yay:
What about you, where are you going for your summer vacation?

Going to Minnesota to a cabin for a week

probably taking several weekend camping trips

taking the the kiddos to Adventureland

We are renting a beach house in Denmark for a week in August:cool1:My in laws are flying over and going with us:yay:(I love my in laws). It should be a great week.

Would love to be able to take advange of the free dining also but we are going next year because of the Harry Potter park opening up in Universal and my family doesn't want to go 3 years in a row (there has to be something wrong with them lol) So we are going to Washington DC for a few days then going to Ocean City Maryland for a week.

I just cancelled the "surprise" birthday Disney trip I had planned for July 29-August 3rd for DD's 9th bday yesterday :sad1: My mom has metastatic breast cancer and is just not doing well at all... I can't risk taking a trip like that and having something happen while we're there:sad1: Thankfully it WAS a surprise, so my girls know nothing about it...

We're going to do 3 nights/4 days on Cape Cod in July (very close to home) and a few nights in North Conway, NH in August (again, close to home)....

Ummmm... summer.... going to the hospital for DD to have little man!:lovestruc

Taking a trip to WDW in December to take the little man to meet Mickey... (no, no, that's not me spoiling him....) He's just got to start his trips to Mickey's early!!:rolleyes1

Lake George, NY in August. We can't wait!

Surprisingly, WDW! First trip there since 2000! I am getting pretty excited, hopefully my kids will still be into it and have a good time as well.

Our family vacation is next week. We are making a big loop from PA to Montreal, to 1,000 Islands, to Niagara Falls, to Sandusky, OH for Cedar Point (for my roller coaster fix), and back home. We never visit just one place. It's always some kind of journey like this.

We cancelled our bounceback for late May/early June, the family is finally Disney'd out. We did a beach trip over Memorial Day weekend (long weekend), may go again towards the end of July. Between Vollyball camp (DD12) and marching band camp (DD14) we have one weekend where DH is off, so we may just do another three night trip to the FL Panhandle (Panama City Beach or Destin). I'm thinking about booking a trip to US/IOA during our 9 day Thanksgiving Break, since it's boud to be less busy than WDW.

We just got back on Friday from Disneyland and Laguna Beach.

I leave Sunday to go to Charleston, SC, then fly out the following Wednesday for Maui, then back to Charleston for a couple of weeks.

The beginning of our summer is hectic.:goodvibes

Hey there! You are going to be in my hometown! We just arrived here a week ago. DD18 and I drove from Tucson to our home in Kennebunk. We're spending most of the summer here, along with the rest of the family as they all arrive at different times. What I want to know is- WHERE IS THE SUN!?!?!? We had a few good days, but this entire week is going to be rainy and chilly.:scared:

If you're at all interested in doing a short lobster boat tour, I've included a few pics.:) My nephew is working this summer on a boat that leaves from the Nonantum Resort on Ocean Ave. in Kennebunkport. My daughter and a friend went out with him a few days ago. The tour is about an hour and a half, goes out of the harbor, past Walker's Point (Bush compound), hauls a few traps, and returns to the Nonantum. If you go, tell Christian his Auntie sent you.:rotfl:

Welcome to Maine, and if you have any questions about things to do in the area or places to eat, just ask! Hopefully, I'll be able to help!

Nephew is the one standing, wearing the red visor :)

Since DH is STILL unemployed, we're not going anywhere.

Us either, my DH got laid off in May. We won't be going anywhere.:sad1: We usually try to do at least one trip during the summer. This year we'll maybe just do some things close to home that are inexpensive or free. I'm kind of bummed out, not sure when we'll ever take another vacation.:sad1:
