Does anyone have a touring plan for US/IOA? We have multiple days scheduled for US/IOA. We are staying off site.

Thanks in advance.

Anyone? Looking for an optimum strategy, if they exist.....

Since a lot of people who frequent Universal don't really have touring plans and since you're staying offsite, I would suggest getting to the gates at least 30-45 minutes before opening and heading for WWoHP first thing. Once you're done there, you can pretty do what you want. It's going to be busy and hot so drink lots of water and try to rest whenever you can.

Thanmks for the reply. We tend go commando at the parks..... it's in our blood :-) We are buying the Flex pass and intend to pop in and out of US/IOA alot. We do intend to do at least 2 fullsdays and probably three 1/4 - 1/2 days there as well.

Our first night there Sunday July 17th we plan on going to WWOHP and see if we can get on a ride or two there and do the Castle tour. We will probably arrive around 6PM

Each day we will arrive an hour earlier than the park opens.

Universal Studios (Day 1, Monday July 18th)
1. Rockit
2. Shrek (not really interested in Jimmy Nuetron)
3. Mummy
4. Jaws
5. Men In Black
6. Simpsons
7. Terminator

Maybe Disaster and/or Twister.

We generally like to leave by 1-1:30PM

Come back that evening and do WWOHP some more. Also intend to stroll the park and do whatever.

Islands of Adventure (Day 2, Tuesday, July 19th)
1. Hulk
2. Spderman
3. Jurassic Park RIver Adv.
4. Double back and do Dr. Doom.
5. Hit the water rides in Toon Lagoon.

Again leaving by 1:30PM

Is this a reasonable itinerary to get done during the summer? We will definitely leave time on other days to meander through the park and do whatever. Are Monday and Tuesdays good days to visit these parks?

Thanks for any help or advice you can give.

LeakyCon will cover july 13-17.
the promo of LeakyCon room rates cover up through the 20th at RPH.
$159 per room is a sweet rate.
i'm guessing some will stay over thru the 20th after the convention is over at that rate.

with that happening, i would tend to think that the evenings up to closing might have some crowds during the convention time period.

LeakyCon will have the parry hotter land all to themselves at 10 pm, so i don't know if any will be able to go there earlier as all the muggles have to be cleared out of the park at closing.

most there at rph for the convention will probably be doing convention stuff in the day but hit the parks at night.
from what i read on their site, that was the impression i received.

with that info, i have no idea how sunday the 17th will be for you doing potter in the evening.

for the monday and tuesday you have planned, i'm sure it will be the usual crowds like in the past for July.

Thanks for the info on LeakyCon. I had no idea there would be a convention. Maybe we need to re-think our plans.

The convention ends on the 17th around 12. I'm sure the parks will have the Potter peeps heading to parks after. But after that it should be just normal summer crowds. The hotel rate was 188 actually and I wished I had nabbed but didn't have the bucks then :guilty::sad2:

I think your overall plans look good. I stayed off site last summer and had no trouble seeing and riding the big stuff first thing in the am. After about 11 the crowds start to roll in and then the lines get HUGE!!

Try single rider lines for repeats if you don;t mind splitting up.

the rate was at $159 if you booked before a certain deadline.

either way, it is a good rate.

friends of mine across the pond told me they were extending there stay after leakycon was over.

summers no matter what the date, are usually busy ones in the park.

I don't see too many touring plans on here. Are touring plans necessary for summer trips? Just curious, there seems to be little content on the matter.

Since there are only two parks, most people don't really make touring plans as indicated earlier. As long as you get to the parks prior to opening, you should be able to do what you want within a reasonable time. The crowds will be heavy and the weather is awful...just be ready for it.

Gotcha. Looks like an early rise will be the order of the day for our trips.
