Summer Incentives

The next round of incentives beginning 5/30 will be:

  • Total voters
    56
  • Poll closed .
I would reach out to your guide. They can't close your contract until it's paid so they can probably fix it for you.
Yeah that’s what I figured since I did the 30//60/90 payments I would be ok waiting for my guide to return. I just don’t want to miss out on this if I can redo the contract since it will take more $ off the cost.

That's the same math I came up with, and at 200 points, that drops to $169pp, right? Current ROFR prices at about $153pp so that becomes very, very tempting for the blue card. Someone tell me why I shouldn't bite!!!

This seems to be such a good deal! I was waiting for Poly 2, but now I might just buy VGF.

Wouldn’t your magical beginnings increase to $4400 off at 200 points? $22 x 200
I started with the base price of $217pp - $22pp for MB = $195pp - even though you still pay the full purchase price and get a rebate check, I'm counting it as part of the initial price per point. Then the summer incentive at 200 points takes off $5170 so $195 x 200 = $39,000 - $5,170 = $33,830 / 200 = $169.15pp. But math was never my strong suit so happy if there's another way of figuring out how these two promotions stack together! Either way, that seems like a really, really good price and I'm still wondering why I shouldn't bite...

Seems to me they are going after the existing owner to buy another 150. That to me looks like a sweet spot comparing old and new.

Old promotion at VGF was $10 pp on 150 points. Old value would have been $1500. New value on 150 points is $3585.

Magical beginnings stays constant at a $3300 discount.

Am I misreading this? If I am putting it together that prices out at savings of $45.90 per point on 150 points with magical beginnings.

If that’s correct the board sponsor must be starting drinking early today! $171 pp direct…. I think that’s a good deal right??? Maybe I’m missing something.
Confirmed, not incl closing the value is $171.10 per point. Even adding in closing costs, I still am well under my quick and dirty "lifetime per point" threshold. Although I don't think these aren't as good as the initial opening day incentives, they are still quite good even against the resale market for VGF (especially for someone who doesn't like to negotiate).

And ask about the backpacks, we want backpacks!
I didn't ask because I wasn't ready to make the plunge, but I'll have to beg and plead and see if my guide has any hiding in her office when we go through with it 😂

Yes....if you end up with 150 point total (145 plus the 5 free), you pay dues on 150 every year.
Also confirmed. We have only been members (resale) since Jan 2022 so I think the last bonus point promo was before my time (or at least I wasn't paying attention to it). I was so excited to get an extra 5 points/year over the lifetime of the contract but I guess an extra discount is okay too!

Where did VGF2 open on 150 point contract?

207 was base price I think but I don’t remember what incentives were.

Yeah, this is intriguing! I'm June UY, so would I get 2022 points if I purchased tomorrow? :rolleyes1

So it'd be $217 * 145pts = 31,465
less $2500 = 28,965
less magical beginnings (22*150 -> 3300) on 2022 points = 25,665
= $171.10 per point

(I needed to do the math myself to believe it :-))

Then we'd still get 2023 points...hmmm...

We're in the same boat with June...our guide confirmed today that we could get 2022 points and bank them if we sign by tomorrow but wouldn't be able to take advantage of Magical Beginnings because we're within 4 days of the end of the UY. Has anyone been able to get a manager to override this? The math doesn't work for us if we don't get the 22 points bought back.

We have June use year too. I'm thinking about buying 150 points for December use year so that I can still take advantage of MB. We always wanted to change to December, so everything should work out right?

Maybe see if you can bank June 2022 UY points, and "sell back" the 2023 UY points?
Unfortunately we don’t have any 2022 or 2023 June UY points left. If we do buy a new contract, we might swap out some points from the new contract to the old one, so that the old contract can sell better.

No, I meant, if you buy a new contract today using the promo, and you want June UY (instead of getting another UY you might not want) you should get 2022 points also. So then I was asking, can have Disney bank the 2022 points, and sell back the 2023 points? The magical beginnings was working for contracts in their 2023 UY that way. (e.g. if you bought Feb UY, you could sell back 2023 points)

Oh, I read your post again, if you want December UY then you could go for it, and sell your stripped June contracts if you wanted all your points in December UY. Sort of like a DIY Magical Beginnings?

That seems to be a good idea for the other posters above with the same June use year. I’m interested to see if it will work.

The fine print says you can sell the first use year and our guide also commented that it would have to be the 2022 points unless we wait until tomorrow to buy, which defeats the purpose. I'm just curious if there's any wiggle room on this and the 4 days issue.
