I see rumors that the public discount may come out on Monday. Based on historical information, is that what everyone expects? and the Visa discount was 20% for mod's right? If so, what do we expect the public discount to be. Thanks everyone!

My TA e-mailed me today and said the summer rate will be for 6/16-8/27 and is open to the public on 3/23. It should be the same as the Visa, though probably less availability for rooms.

Great! Thank you for this information!

Does anyone know if the 30% for deluxe include rooms at the Contemporary Tower and Garden Wing?

If there's less availability, they must be seriously cutting back this year.

For the dates I asked about the only availability at CBR and POR were for the Pirate and Royal rooms, so families of 5 we're not eligible for any discount at the moderate level. And no availability for standard rooms at the deluxes. I have seen several others who reported the same for other dates.

This is the first time I have not been able to find a room with a discount.
I am hoping that they will make more rooms available when the public discount comes out.

Sounds like they are discounting higher priced rooms that have not been pre-booked. Most people will pre book the cheapest room category in case they don't get a discount. Disney is hoping that many will upgrade their room category for the same price of rack rate at a cheaper room category. Disney also knows that families of 5 have 2 choices, 2 rooms at a value or 1 at a moderate that sleeps 5. It is cheaper for them to book 1 room at a moderate so that is where they pre-book.

Yes, Monday 3/23. The email from Disney Rewards says: "Book your stay today before this offer becomes available to the general public on March 23, 2015!"

So, how do you find out at which deluxe resorts there is a 30% discount? Same for which room levels.

Bay Lake Towers, All 3 bdr villas, GFV and Polynesian Villas are excluded.

Also excluded are FW campsites, Mermaid rooms at AoA, AS Movies, and French Quarter.....

Wow - if that's the case that BC has 10% lower discount than BWI and YC, they really are charging premium now for BC.

Thanks for posting.

I already have a standard room booked at POR, but could not get the Visa discount applied as there was no availability for standard rooms. I could get a royal room, but it would be about $160 more than what the standard is costing me. I guess I would feel a bit better if I could upgrade the room for the same cost. At least then I would feel like I got a discount of some kind. If Disney is hoping people will upgrade from a standard for the same cost as standard rack rate, it is not working in my case.

Anyone know if discounts go live at midnight or in the morning?

I also had a standard room at CBR and they were going to "upgrade" me to a pirate room (not an upgrade IMO anyway you look at it) and it would cost me about $200 more. We ended up taking the opportunity to do an actual upgrade and we'll be staying at WL for just a little more than our original CBR cost. The CM did tell me that they could open more rooms Monday when they open up to the public...but I agree with PPs...looks like it's all the higher category rooms up for discount. Although I wasn't offered a Royal Room at POR. I might have jumped on that for DD :)

Well I checked at 6:33 am and the sale was listed on the website. I tried the Contemporary, CBR, CSR, and AoA and it said there were no rooms available for the promotion at any of those resorts.
