Summer Discount Public - Monday?

AHHH! I booked Universal through cheaptickets and had to do the same. I did not even think of that. I was adding my kids! Now I just did it again and see that I can save $140 for a royal room. But, now I have a couple of questions. I have never booked this way before. So, will I get back my $200 deposit with Disney? And I will have to order my park tickets separately, correct? How does that work with FP+? And will my existing reservations for dining get tied to my new reservation and can I still use the My Disney Experience? Do you still get magic bands? I am just a bit confused and concerned now. We were also considering Coronado Springs since we could save more there.

You should be able to get your refund back from Disney with no problem. I believe you can add tickets through orbitz, but I recommend getting them through undercovertourist or another ticket provider since you will get better pricing. If you get them from UT, they send you the actual tickets. You type the code on the back of each ticket into My Disney Experience and it links them. If you get them from another site, make sure they are FP+ compatible immediately and not some kind of coupon that you have to redeem to get the tickets. You are then eligible to use FP+ reservations once you hit the eligibility window. As far as ADR's go, they are completely independent and are tied to MDE. You still get magic bands assuming you are staying at a Disney managed hotel. Hope this answers all of your questions!

You will get your deposit back. Yes you need to order your tickets separately. You will then link tickets and room to MDE. I didn't lose any ADRs and I booked my FP+ no problem (but everything needs to be linked to MDE). Also if you do this make sure you update your address for magic bands after you link the reservation to MDE.

I'm curious about my ADR's also. If I make the switch to the Orbitz booking, will I loose all my ADR's? I have several dinner shows as well as CRT.

I was worried too, but nothing happened to any of my ADRs all were safe!

Anyone can schedule an ADR at 180 days from dining date. You don't need to be staying on site. I always start with the ADR's then wait for the room deals later. There's always a deal later. But there are not always ADR's available later :)

Scheduling flights are dead last just in case I need to change my room reservations dates.

So sorry that this might seem repetitive, but just to be clear...will my magic bands have the tickets to the parks on them and my FP reservations on them, just like if I booked with Disney as long as I put in the codes on the tickets ( I think I will use Undercover tourist)? Or do I need to bring paper tickets with me and how does that work. As you can tell, I have never bought tickets separately before. I already have most of my ADRs booked and as I understand my MDE stays the same for those, just my reservation # will change. thank you all so much

As long as you are staying on Disney property you are eligible for all the benefits regardless from where you booked your Disney hotel and tickets. Yesterday I booked our hotel from Orbitz and ordered our tickets from Undercover tourist. I easily linked our hotel (Pop) to mde with the code that was provided. When the tickets arrive (and I like that they are actual tickets I believe in a credit card form) each one will have a code in the back. Enter each one in mde and at your 60 day mark you will be eligible for fp selections. If you are in the U.S your magic bands will be delivered with all the info on them. We are Canadian so we have to pick them up at check-in. It was really easy and by doing this I saved $330 over the Disney quote for the exact same package.

The best rates by far are the Expedia UK deal on the budget board. Saved almost 50% on my stay in August. Whole process couldn't have been easier. Some resorts, such as AKL and Brach Club are getting as high as 57% off! depending on dates.

Well, now I have created a dilemma for myself, although a good dilemma! :) Back on Orbitz a little while ago to find that I could actually get a standard room at AKL for $106 more than we were originally going to pay for POR. So, dilemma is..pay more for my favorite resort, AKL, or save between $40-$500 at POR or CSR. DH says go for it, you love that resort, but remember no other extras now. Your extra is your resort. That makes sense, but we were thinking of taking our girls to see Blue Man Group while at Universal. They are both teens now and I think would love it. Hmmmm...dream resort, enjoy some savings. told you, a good dilemma! not complaining.

They are not actually ON the band. All the band does is link back to your MDE account. I would bring your paper tickets as a backup in case there is an issue.
