So now we whisk away on the monorail. Boy I do love this neighborhood. Next stop Contemporary Resort. Location of my parasailing adventure and RAIN. It started to rain just as we got there.
I was worried that we would have to cancel. Of course secretly I was getting nervous, even though I was looking forward to it, so I started to think maybe it wouldn't be so bad to not have to go 400 feet into the air today....

But not to worry, the rain stopped just in time, so start worrying! Just as I was filling our the paperwork, my daughter announced that she was coming with me. (I'll remind you again that she is SIX) Now we had talked about the fact that two could go together and that one of the kids could go with me (not my husband, he'd rather eat sushi) both had expressed an interest, but I didn't really think either of them would really do it. It seems I underestimated my daughter. After asking her if she REALLY wanted to do this about 10 different ways, I filled out the paper work for her too.

We said good-bye to our guys and got into the boat with a couple of quite young men. They were in charge and I could almost be their mother. And they were going to strap my daughter and I on to a parachute and fly us like a kite. Hmmm. OK, the other guy who just got on the boat can go first. Everything went smooth for the first man up. Then they started to get us ready. I have to say these guys were great. They were kind and reassuring to both me and my daughter. The whole process is quite easy, gentle and takes no physical skill whatsoever. Good thing.
It was really breathtaking up there. As I had been told it's really quite and peaceful, well other peoples rides are quite. In mine there was this young girl yelling "I can fly" with her arms straight out. I'm so glad she did the ride with me. It was truly special to share it with her. I was just so darn proud of her and impressed that she would do this without fear, that I almost could ignore the fact that I was starting to feel pretty nauseous. Luckily I managed the whole ride w/o sending any unfortunate surprises to the people on the lake below. As they reeled us in Kaleigh kept saying "I don't want it to be over yet!" All in all, I really liked being up there, it wasn't scary at all. I wish I wasn't so prone to motion sickness.
As we were coming into the dock we saw Chris and Tyler zipping around on a speedboat. That's good, I can sit and recover my stomach for a few minutes.
After the guys were done we went into the quick service area by the arcade in the Contemporary. Chris and I made a plan that he would feed and entertain the kids there while I went off to the Grand Floridian Spa for a birthday massage. Then we would meet back in our room.
I told you the day was magical...and it's not over yet...

Your daughter gave you an excellent gift of that memory!

I'm enjoying your reports. Thanks for taking the time to write them!

NMAmy - She really did. It is incredible that we shared that experience. I know we will both remember it forever!
