Summer 2024 Direct Incentives

FYI - the Visa promotion ends 8/12/2024 per my guide and noted in the fine print under those incentive tables. The fine print states "existing Disney Visa cardholder" so it isn't clear if it has to be a credit card or if a debit card qualifies.

2 months worth of dues can be saved by pushing the purchase out from the last incentive end date. Also allows updating to the fall incentives when paying over 90 days as the 90 days beyond 8/12 would extend past September.

So ... for 100% certainty if you do a 90 day payment you can cancel/change at day 89? I thought I saw that the 10 day policy still applied.

I still have the hardest time with UY. If I have a Feb UY and a Dec UY what months should I buy in order to use MB but not pay dues on those points?

You will pay 2024 dues from date of purchase no matter which one you buy.

However, for a Dec UY, your first set of points will be 2023 since we are still in the 2023 Dec UY.

So Dec is better than Feb right?

You can cancel within 10 days, then after that you can only modify the purchase if you do an extended close. You are locked in to purchase SOMETHING after 10 days, they can just change what resort or how many points, etc right now

Hmmmmm so if I bought today and Poly came out in Sept I could just switch? This applies to any contract where you ask for 90 day payments?

Haven't looked too closely to compare incentives in a while. What's up with Fort Wilderness Welcome Home starting at a lower threshold and having a better offer up to 249 points but others like Riviera more sharply increase Welcome Home at 250 points and above?
Could disincentivitize buying for outside personal use. Keeping large point purchases from being more attractive than typical contract sizes would help achieve a better ratio of personal to non-personal use. Maybe DVC is extra keen on protecting CFW.

Actually CFW did improve - I just got off the phone with my guide. Here is the link to the current CFW promotion: https://dvcexplorer.com/fin/m/FortCabins_Member_Welcome_VISA.pdf

For comparison, someone will need to find the last CFW member sheet but at a minimum there is the Visa Credit.

I can think of exactly one person for whom this improvement will make a difference: me. I'm going to buy a favorite week #50 at CFW, thanks in no small part to these improved incentives. So there - me and like 4 other people on the planet are signing CFW contracts. Yay Disney! 🤔

This is where I think buying CFW makes perfect sense. It’s a high demand time during a low point season. Owning a FW will be the cheapest most reliable path to regular stays that time of year. FW protects you from being locked out or having December point charts raised more in-line with demand.

I have been speaking to a guide about CFW. I am looking to purchase 150 points and my guide is telling me that Feb UY. Any tips to get the best bang for my buck besides the 1k Disney Visa and the 2k welcome bonus?

My main caution with the Cabins is the dues being over $12 a point

New compared to the last round of incentives, but they have done Disney Visa offers in the past.

I (partly) justified my direct purchase for access to the DL lounge since we go at least twice a month. 24 visits a year*46 years = 1,104 visits. Only a $27 Coke each visit, then. 🤣 (Kidding!)
When we visit Starview Station (family of 4) we have about 6-8 sodas between us and my kids will usually eat the bag of chips….so that’s gotta be close to $27 in quick service savings, right? 😋
