Summer 2024 Direct Incentives

Haven't looked too closely to compare incentives in a while. What's up with Fort Wilderness Welcome Home starting at a lower threshold and having a better offer up to 249 points but others like Riviera more sharply increase Welcome Home at 250 points and above?

Just when I was like nope not buying I need more incentive…

I think I will likely still hold out for Poly news.

I'm also holding out. Poly sales should start before end of the current offer cycle so it'll be interesting if some things like the Visa offer will apply to Poly as well.

Actually CFW did improve - I just got off the phone with my guide and I compared the price sheet last cycle to this cycle. Here is the link to the current CFW promotion: https://dvcexplorer.com/fin/m/FortCabins_Member_Welcome_VISA.pdf

For comparison, I attached the DVC explorer sheet for CFW last incentive cycle. As with others, the incentive per point improved (Up to $17 pp vs $13 pp last cycle) and the Welcome Home credit improved across the board, and there is the same Visa Credit.

I can think of exactly one person for whom this improvement will make a difference: me. I'm going to buy a favorite week #50 at CFW, thanks in no small part to these improved incentives. So there - me and like 4 other people on the planet are signing CFW contracts. Yay Disney! 🤔
You are a member now whereas you were a prospective buyer before, yes? I think that's the $13 vs $17 difference :)

Looking forward to that too.... hard to guess, but I think the buzz for that tower (no resale restrictions, same dues, hopefully more availability for studios, possible re-balance on point chart, etc etc) might just add up to no incentives at all to sell new PVB contracts.

I still have the hardest time with UY. If I have a Feb UY and a Dec UY what months should I buy in order to use MB but not pay dues on those points?

My guide is out of the office today so am trying to decide if it is worth canceling and resigning towards the end of these offers. We are DL locals so were looking forward to using the lounge this summer in the heat (we go about once/week).

We also have a Riviera resort reservation for May 2025 we'd need to give up and rebook in a few months, which may or may not be available. (Not set on Riviera for that trip, though.)

However - it would push back payments, saving us a bit more cash and would allow more time for Poly news to drop, too. Hmm.

This might be a dumb question, but do the incentives stack? For current members, would 200 points at BLT be $185pp ($230 promotional pricing -$45pp for 200 points)?

Good question! I was a member before, having closed on OKW well before the end of the last cycle, but I see the fine print at the bottom is different between the two DVC explorer sheets... members vs new purchasers. If you're right, I wonder if the welcome home credit is actually better for members. For sure the visa credit is new.

The earlier sheet you attached said Prospect in the file name, so I don't think it was an apples to apples comparison.

Agree with you, but the guide did say there were some improvements in CFW incentives. I don't think I have a member explorer sheet for CFW from the last cycle for a better apples to apples comparison. Going to edit my earlier post so as not to confuse anyone else.

For comparison, someone will need to find the last CFW member sheet but at a minimum there is the Visa Credit.

I tried like 2 dozen iterations of possible names they’d used for Cabins at Fort Wilderness to try to figure out the URL; never would have guessed FortCabins.

Here’s what was on DisneyVacationClub.com last night:

Here’s what’s there now 🤷‍♂️

I can’t see a difference to the core incentives. The Visa offer is obviously a plus up on top of this.

I don’t have existing member information handy, but my earlier post (before the Visa offer was found) was specifically referencing new owner discounts.

Has anyone confirmed what the military discount is this round, or if there even is one?
I have the military discount and it was $500, my guide just left me a voicemail about the Disney visa but didn’t say anything about the military discount changing….

Is this Disney visa credit a new thing?

I am still imagining a 150 direct poly purchase so I can sit in a chair in the mk dvc lounge once every two years and eat my $5,000 bag of chips.
New compared to the last round of incentives, but they have done Disney Visa offers in the past.

I (partly) justified my direct purchase for access to the DL lounge since we go at least twice a month. 24 visits a year*46 years = 1,104 visits. Only a $27 Coke each visit, then. 🤣 (Kidding!)
