Summer 2024 Direct Incentives

You have to be a cardholder only?? You don't even have to use the card? We have one but my better credit card rewards would be like $2250. I wonder if we can do both then??

so with the visa offer, would this make the price better than the last round of incentives?

The members one has welcome home and the visa on it so hopefully I can use both

We were pleasantly surprised too when we toured there in December. It is beautiful, and walking to DS is fantastic. But park transportation is a hot mess with the busses having to make multiple stops. Takes a looong time. Now if they somehow could drop the skyliner onto SSR, gamechanger.
I still think that they have kept the monorail easement (if you have bought SSR, it's mentioned in your documents. It goes from Epcot on North side of Disney Vacation Club way by POFQ, crosses over on the South side by the laundry building and goes around to where the old bus stop is at DS - https://disneybythenumbers.com/info-saratoga-springs-resort-monorail-right-of-way/) as a potential place not to put a monorail, but rather to maybe (key word here being "maybe") put in a skyliner route.

I actually think it would be an even bigger plus for Port Orleans than SSR...

Do we know if they still offer Magical Beginnings this cycle? I’m having trouble finding it on their site. Thanks!

To me - it comes down to if you have a specific timeframe from which you are looking to USE the points. We added on to our August use year this last incentive cycle, and made sure we had the points in our account as I wanted to book a Standard Studio for Easter Weekend in 2025 at the Riviera for my family. If I didn't have the points at 11-months and bought it today, those rooms are gone - so I spent the extra on dues to get access to the points to be able to secure the booking I wanted at 11-months....just something to consider ...
Yes that can make all the difference in choosing if it’s worth holding off a couple months to save on dues.

That’s another value for direct over resale too. Direct points become ready to use within hours, not months. Resale is more of a guessing game on when it’ll actually close, when points will load, and even possibly not happening at all.

The DVC website still mentions magical beginnings on their savings page so I think so

Since I bought in this week I should know this but I don't. Does anyone know how prorated dues works when you delay payment 90 days and you use Magical Beginnings? Do you still pay dues on the Magical Beginning points? Do you have to pay dues from the day you sign the contract or is it from the day you make final payment?

I am considering rescinding my purchase and pushing it back to the middle or end of the new incentive cycle to save money on dues. I chose a March use year so it doesn't change anything for me on "free points" and I don't plan to use my points until October of 2025. I do have some credit card incentives I need to consider but could cover those in other ways.
I used the 90 day for two direct purchases. Dues did not start on the contract until I closed on the last cycle.

Does anyone know if that $1000 Disney Visa credit is just for the Disney Visa Credit Card, or if people with the Disney Debit Visa's through Chase can get it too?

Have they improved incentives for the cabins? Thank you to all those putting together the numbers and analysis.
CFW: no changes
Well, the fact that nothing is changed with CFW tells me that selling them right now is not a priority and they have other plans to sell them down the road.

Actually CFW did improve - I just got off the phone with my guide. Here is the link to the current CFW promotion: https://dvcexplorer.com/fin/m/FortCabins_Member_Welcome_VISA.pdf

For comparison, someone will need to find the last CFW member sheet but at a minimum there is the Visa Credit.

I can think of exactly one person for whom this improvement will make a difference: me. I'm going to buy a favorite week #50 at CFW, thanks in no small part to these improved incentives. So there - me and like 4 other people on the planet are signing CFW contracts. Yay Disney! 🤔

FYI - There is a new $1000 incentive for using Disney Visa on summer incentives. Just got the following from my guide. Definitely postponing my purchase now until the end of the current cycle.

That’s sweet!
DVC addict economics:

Wait, you’re telling me I can save $1000 if I spend $30,000? Sign me up!
Not only that… but buying direct can save you over $200,000 on your Disney Wedding! With the 10% off
