Making these t-shirts was SOOOO fun and addicting! I want to make more!!!! Is it wrong to add days to your vacation because I want to make more shirts?

Anyway, here's my summary:

I have been "collecting" designs for the last 14 months. Can I just say this: YOU DESIGNERS ROCK!!!! I had no problem requesting the designs I wanted. Sometimes I felt so bad asking but I knew the outcome would be worth it. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE!!! I know I have some of Pat, Kari and Amy's designs. I'm sure there are more to thank-- but like I said, it's been awhile since I requested some of these. OKay, got my designs.

Need t-shirts. Last week I ordered 44 shirts for $122.00 from shirtsupplier.com. Super fast shipping! Should have ordered a size bigger on my shirts. Washed the shirts w/ no bleach or fabric softener.

Transfer paper. I used a 40% coupon months ago on light transfer paper. Thought I was doing great with a good deal. Welllllll, then I do a little research on these boards and found out dark paper is better. So I bought some paper off e-bay last week. I ordered them through mariettaangie. I bought 10 sheets of dark opaque paper for 10.99 and 25 sheets of 4x6 for 9.99. With shipping and insurance, my total was $28.50. Would the dark really be better? Keep reading to find out!

I used my cheap $40 Canon ink jet printer at home. I needed to buy ink. That cost $45 and I used half of it.

I spent all morning ironing on the transfers-- probably took about 3 hours.

Wanna see the results?????

Here they are:

This is the shirts for Animal Kingdom. Used the dark paper and trimmed around the image. Used the Close to my Heart micro-tip scissors and they worked great so no white would show.

These are for DHS. Used the light paper. I still have to make my DH and mine.

Some of you might know our group size is somewhere between 28-36 people. These 2 shirts are for my mom and dad. I am also making them anniversary shirts but I need one, yes just one more piece of dark paper to finish them.

And these are for my family!!! I wanted to use red shirts but my SIL had all ready bought white shirts. This will be our family matching shirt. Oh- used dark paper.

Here's the next set. One of my favorite designs. Simple. Love that! Used white paper. Picture doesn't show some of the white of the shirt that shows through the design. Wish I used the dark paper.....

Here's another one of my favorite!!! I still have to iron on mine-- the shirt I have is a paler yellow and I can't decide if I should use it. Does it really matter? My oldest son has a different last name so I made the 3 boys the sam with 2008 and mine and DH will have the family name.

Here's one my son picked out. He loves it since he LOVES baseball! No one will have this design to match. Used dark paper.

Here's one my youngest son picked out. Used dark paper (4x6 size)

And finally....the one that I am SOOOO happy that my son is proud to wear. Of course it helps that he loves Stitch. Used dark paper.

I have a few miscellaneous-- non-matching designs to do but wanted to post this now.

Here's the final cost.
shirts+paper+ink= $4.25 per shirt (((((WOW!!!!))))) :thumbsup2

I LOVED using the dark paper!!!!! Wish I had more of it. Besides for the smell when I was ironing it on, it was SOO easy to use. Directions said use the iron for about 30 seconds-- I found that the design/paper was set after about 20 seconds. The look of the dark paper is so much better. IMO.

ETA: the dark paper did curl over night when I left it out. I messed up several pieces because it wouldn't load in the printer right.

Again, thank you to everyone who helped me make this trip a little more magical! I REALLY appreciate it. I'm off to make the journals now.....

I did not make the design so I have no idea. Sorry. Maybe someone else can help.

Your shirts all look fabulous! You have been very busy. Here is to a wonderful trip. Hope you have the time of your lives. Thanks so much for sharing the pictures with us!

loved your shirts! I tried to post pics of mine yesterday, but cant copy and paste the photo on here? How did you do it? :confused3

I love your shirts! :thumbsup2 I made more shirts than DS and I have days but I figure we can just change a couple of evenings! :rotfl2:

Your shirts really turned out nice!! I love all the Life Is Good ones!!

You mentioned that you wanted to do the stick figure family on red shirts, but already had white purchased. At least on the white shirts you didn't have to worry about any red bleeding through the white background!! I wrecked my first shirt because I ironed as the directions indicated and it was obviously too long and the red came through. My second shirt came out much better, but I was stressed the whole time I was ironing!! I cut the ironing time way down, but I had to go over some black areas a little longer because they did not come out dark enough. I have 2 more to to and I dread it!!

did you design the safari shirts? If not, where did you go? If so, would you mind making some with the following names, Jack, Lana, Shawn, Michelle, Natalyn, and Cason. Thank you.

Sorry, I did not design them. I soooo wish I knew how.
The designer who created them is not creating any personalized designs right now. If you create a separate post asking for them, you might find a designer who can help you.

Thanks!
Christina

Just had to add: My name is Christina and my husband is Brad or Bradley (whem I am upset). I thought it was kinda neat (I know I am easliy amused ;) ) Love your tees. I think I even saved that animal kingdom design for myself after you requested it. Have a GREAT TRIP!

Ok stupid question but here it is anyway. How do you get your disign centered on the t-shirt????? I did one and either I got it off center or I have on **** off to the side more than the other. :confused3

Your T-shirts look AMAZING!

I think I may have to request some personalised designs myself. Although I am not very creative at all and got a small feeling I may mess up the printing and ironing process!!!:rotfl:

They look fab - hope you have an fabulous holiday!
