What's next? Chevy pulls out and they take away test track.
GM already pulled out of that one, which is why it's now Chevy. I don't view SOAT as a major attraction.

I figured that they wanted to use the attraction to push the Chevy division. Same sponsor, different name....um...yeah...that was one of the biggest head scratchers I've ever seen in this neighborhood...

The Kuka arms are Disney's even after the attraction would close. However it's unclear if they could use them in another attraction right away.
Avatar doesn't use Kuka arms though. But yes the deal really only applies to the Kuka arms that universal has. I'm not sure what would come of the SOAT arms.I thought the exclusivity deal applied only to the generation 2? Kuka arms. The SOAT setup is an older design. Also that deal ends this year, no? Hence Avatar.
So what you're saying his my 6ft 5 1/2in husband (who is a skinny bean) likely wouldn't be able to ride it? He usually tries everything once if he thinks he can fit. We won't be back til next Sept so it may be a moot point but it might make him feel better if it was a ride he likely couldn't ride anyways cuz of his height.Sum of all thrills was also one of those ride where really tall or more pooh sized and you may not be able to ride but you don't find that out until you've invested time getting ready to ride it...

Ok thanks. Yeah luckily he's a skinny bean but I could def see where that ride wouldn't accommodate all just by looking at the picture on Disney's websiteI'm not sure the exact max height but it's an over the shoulder restraint and your riding the end of a robotic arm so there is a max height. Many of universal rides have a 6'7 height listed but you need to be really thin at that height
I'm with you. We went to Epcot in December and rode Soarin' and Test Track and Spaceship Earth and visited the Living Seas and then we just said "now what". It was still early so walking around World Showcase would hardly fill up a day.I just find Epcot so sad now. It's just a shell of itself. I remember visiting in 1991 and Epcot was GREAT. We loved the Innoventions pavillions (whatever they were called then), there was so much to do! It was just a really neat, futuristic, hands on place that was great to run around exploring. Now, honestly, the only reasons I'm considering going next year is Frozen Ever After and the Seas. Oh there's a few other rides my kids would enjoy, but honestly nothing we'd care if we missed. And there's certainly not much else there I care about now - the pavillions are dead. Epcot is just a massive amount of walking around, for not a lot in return quite honestly. I enjoyed the World Showcase, but not in the frigging mid-day heat of summer. I'm sorry, they should open that place up at 9 am in the summer.
They have a model seat putside the ride to try on first.Ok thanks. Yeah luckily he's a skinny bean but I could def see where that ride wouldn't accommodate all just by looking at the picture on Disney's website
That's good to know. Seems as though it won't be open when we go Sep 2017 but if it somehow is I know he can try out the seat beforehands. I'm going to have him do that for the Gringotts ride at Universal since I heard tall people can have problems with that despite there not being an upper cap on height for that ride. They have a model seat putside the ride to try on first.

I wouldn't be too concerned. My 6'8" husband loves Sum of All Thrills and does it every trip with absolutely no problem or complaints. I'm bummed that it looks like they are getting rid of it. Our daughter measures her height by what rides she can go on and what rides she is trying to be tall enough to go on. So, for example, when she was 38", she was eating her vegetables so she would be tall enough for Tower of Terror (40"). Sum of All Thrills is the one she has been most excited about for 48". She loves technology, building things, working with her electric circuit set, etc. so Sum of All Thrills really is something perfect for her. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like she will get to ride it. She is 47" right now and will, no doubt, be 48" in December, but I don't think it will still be around then.So what you're saying his my 6ft 5 1/2in husband (who is a skinny bean) likely wouldn't be able to ride it?
