Again this year, we will be staying at DVC for Thanksgiving. We are coming in after several days at Vero and would like to have suggestions about where we might find a nice meal to take out. We were thinking along the lines of a whole turkey and all the sides, as we plan to make this another "non-park" stay, play cards, go to Gaylord Palms for ICE! and dinner, relax poolside etc.
I know that often grocery stores and even Disney do this type of meal, but sometimes people have had a really nice experience with this and would share their favorite location in the WDW area. We don't mind picking it up if it is close.
Dining at Olivia's last year was our all time WORST!!! Thanksgiving day experience. Think cheap cold turkey roll, sliced thin, 1 teaspoon of
cranberries and lukewarm potatoes and gravy for $25.00 + per person. I would have happily paid more for a warm traditional meal but the even with an overworked staff, the dinner (cold) arrived with our drink! We laughed and did tell management of our disappointment, and that we understood the holiday factor but we are going to try takeout meal this year because our villa has an oven and at least it will be hot! Even if we are to lazy to start from scratch!
Thanks for any ideas you might share.

Publix supermarket usually has a pretty nice selection of already made Thanksgiving items - turkey, sides, etc. I haven't eaten it, but have seen the flyers for it in the store before.

The grocery stores are usually closed for most of the day on Thanksgiving, if not the entire day. You'd have to pick up the food the day before at the latest.

We have done several T'giving dinners from Publix. You can pre order the turkey, and all the fixings to be picked up the day before. The last time we did this WE Go Shop delivered it for us.

We did the Publix dinner 2 years ago and it was great. You need to call and order ahead of time, plus they give you a few choices (pie flavor) and add-on options. The entire thing was very reasonable, around $40. IIRC. I also picked up a large disposable foil roasting pan and a roll of foil to use in reheating.

Another Thankgiving take-out option is Boston Market.

Thanks everyone!
I really appreciate the suggestions. I think we have a plan now and look forward to the warm weather and "leftovers" as an option while relaxing.
Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
