Have never been to Epcot. Spending one day there before our cruise. What is the best place for a sit down meal? Best buffet? Best lunch? We are probably getting the dining plan. Thanks for your help!

Could you give some specifics? Kids, likes and dislikes, how far in advance?

I love the Biergarten and so do my kids. My DH hates it.

We all love Le Cellier for lunch but you might not get a reservation.

My DH and DD11 won't eat Chinese, Japanese or Morrocan food.

Everyone in our family loves Le Chef's but the lunch menu isn't as good as dinner. Same for Rose and Crown.

We all love Tutto but think it is relatively expensive for inexpensive Italian food.

Our trip is in June, as you can see on my counter. We are two adults, no kids. DH likes to eat a LOT...thus the buffet. I like to try new things. Since I have no idea what is available at Epcot, I really don't know what else to add. Prefer things on the dining plan, I guess.

Oh, and staying at Port Orleans, I think, if you have suggestions there.

The Biergarten might be your best choice. We had an excellent lunch buffet there and we make reservations for about 15 minutes before the show. That way we eat and then have a beer and watch the show. I always get the beer sampler which I love!

The Pork Schnitzel and Cheese spaetzle are out of this world and the pretzel bread is as good as Le Cellier's. Tons of different sausages, a veal loaf (sort of like a veal meatloaf) plus something at the carving station.

The only problem I have is that is is set up like a two identical U's and can get congested.

If you get there during a busy time, you will not get a table by yourself but we've never had a problem.

If you DH likes to eat, he'll love it here and on the cruise too!:cheer2:

Ah, Epcot, my fav park.

Where we've eaten:

Lunch:
Le Cellier twice: first time awesome, second time not as good. Problem with DS's meal, took forever for them to bring correct meal, by then we were all done and DS wouldn't eat it. However liked the cheese soup, pretzel bread and desserts. Probably not trying it a 3rd time as there are others we'd rather hit.

Garden Grill: Three of us liked it just fine, DH didn't think the food was very good. It was a rainy day, we were lucky to have a PS as it got mobbed. We wouldn't eat there again because our kids are older and not into character dining.

San Angel Inn: Good experience, good food, great table, kitchen willing to prepare "de-constructed" plates for our kids. I think they were quesadillas and the kids were young and didn't like it all together if you know what I mean.

CS: Germany and China, both were just fine.

Dinner:
Rose and Crown: Food was good and so was our waitress but we had a problem with the host who was very rude. Overall we were glad we ate there once but wouldn't return.

Japan-Teppan: Ate dinner there two times before the refurb. Both times good service, short wait, good food, fun with chef. Probably will eat there again, one of our favs. It is expensive. My DD did the pearl experience in the gift shop which was fun and the drum show nice too. We have even watched Illuminations from the covered deck in Japan.

France: DH and I have done dinner there alone twice. First time perfect! Second time didn't live up to the first time but was ok. Considering doing a lunch or dinner there again next trip.

Morocco: DH and I alone there first time, loved it! Took our kids last trip and they loved it too. Good shish-ke-bobs and appetizers and soup. Belly dancer and music fun too. The whole pavillion is very pretty at night. Will probably eat there again.

Biergarten: Buffet, last minute decision last trip. We all loved the atmosphere, had a great table and nice family to share it with. Three of us liked the food, DS was a bit picky. Glad we ate there once for the experience.

Where we want to eat next time that we haven't before:

Nine Dragons
Maybe Italy
Lunch at Coral Reef

Good luck! :)

We've never had a bad meal at Epcot. We've eaten at LeCellier twice and both times it was excellent. Marrakesh was a very nice surprise because I had read bad reviews - DH and I both loved it and the service was excellent. Coral Reef was outstanding and DD and I both found our new favorite seafood there - Mahi Mahi.

We have eaten at 9 Dragons, Akerhshus (l), and Coral Reef...all were very good, but none were buffet. Potitions at 9 Dragons were rather large.

Some counter service locations we like are the fish & chips in UK and the Tangerine Cafe in Morocco.

The buffet in Biergarten was great! We liked Tutto Italia, too.
