Thanks!
I love making quilts although mine do not have batting in them. For Winter weight quilts I use fleece backing and summer weight I use flannel. It was inspired by a co-worker who made me one for Christmas and she used fleece.
What do you mean there's no batting in them? Are they comforter covers (duvets) then? Do you just stitch the front directly to the backing?
I made a crazy quilt bag a long time ago in Home Ec class. I loved it. I like the idea of joining an assortment of fabrics together into designs. But, I've always hated the puckery look the quilting gets where it's stitched to the batting, after it gets washed. I'd be interested in an alternate way to do them.
I love the colors you used, bigmerle.
He is in the Navy and she had me make him one when he graduated from one of his schools. I made it with Navy patterned, dark blue, gold and light blue fabrics then stitched three lines around the edge, red white and blue!
