Hi all - would really like to get your feedback/suggestions on the TS plans I've made for upcoming trip in Sept. DH and I will be celebrating 5 yr anniversary, it will be just the two of us and it's been 30 years since either of us has been. We want to spend time in the parks but we also prefer good quality food and healthy food options over fast food, and want to have at least one sit down meal per day. We have our car and plan to drive to the parks except for MK.

It's our first vacation since our honeymoon (other than weekends trips to the beach) so I want it to be special. Here is the lineup so far, would love your thoughts/suggestions - I've tried to get in all of the can't miss places that friends/posters/travel agent have really talked up. This may be too ambitious, and I'm not concerned about changing the CS options but with ADRs being so necessary for TS, just want to get some feedback:

Sunday: arrival day - MK from approx. 11am-close. BOG lunch, LTT for dinner
Monday: HS; Bkfst at Kona (oop), dinner at Raglan Rd (oop) at 7:15 - thinking of leaving HS to go to DTD for lunch, not sure how close it is?
Tuesday: Epcot; CS at Sunshine Seasons, dinner at Kouzzina at 6:50 (hoping to walk back into Epcot after dinner to see Illuminations)
Wed: MK; CP bkfst (oop), CS lunch at Cosmic Ray's, Dinner at Ohana at 9:30 (watch Wishes from Poly beach)
Thurs: Epcot; lunch at Bier (oop) and dinner at HDDR at 8:30pm
Friday: AK; CS lunch at Flame Tree and dinner at Boma at 7:30
Sat: checkout ;lunch at DTD (EOS or Wolfgang Puck)

I haven't run the math yet to see which of the TS meals should be oop vs DDP, but I will do that before we go.

Thanks for your help!

Given that you have dinner planned at Raglan Road, I probably wouldn't leave DHS to go to DTD for lunch, then back to DHS, then back to DTD for dinner. Even with a car this probably won't be a fast process because you have to allow for time to get to your car, find parking, etc. Once in the car, it's probably about a 10 minute drive.

Given that you have a breakfast planned at Kona and dinner at Raglan Road, I would consider finding a light lunch somewhere in DHS. I really like Sci Fi, but I don't think it would qualify as healthy food :rotfl:. If you want something a little fancier, I also recommend Brown Derby. My family probably would order an appetizer and then split a Cobb salad for lunch.

Looks like a good plan.

On your Monday, I wouldn't leave HS to go to DTD for lunch, especially since you plan on being at DTD for dinner, as you would lose a lot of park time. I would recommend just grabbing something at a CS for lunch that day. While HS doesn't have the best CS offerings, I've always found a salad or wrap/sandwich that works well and isn't too unhealthy.

thanks. we'll stay in HS for the day then probably. I was looking at Sci Fi because it sounded like a fun atmosphere - maybe we'll give it a try. DH will eat all the burgers and fries and loves milkshakes - maybe I'll just adopt the "there are no calories in WDW" mindset for that day :)

I like Sci Fi and agree...there are no calories in WDW. Otherwise, how could one eat all of the cupcakes, popcorn, churros, chocolates, candies, ice creams, Dole Whips...:rotfl:

Does you DH also like hot dogs? If he does, Sci Fi has the picnic burger, which is a hamburger with a hot dog on top! It's huge...:goodvibes

Sci Fi is a great option if you are willing to give up the health aspect. The milkshakes are really good and the fries are different than, and much better than, the typical Disney fries. It is great fun sitting in the cars and watching the campy, old sci-fi movie bits.

LTT is a family style Thanksgiving dinner. We much prefer lunch which is an order from the menu TS. The Colony Salad is excellent and the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake is one of DW's best desserts - not healthy, but like a PP said - there are no calories in DW. :lmao:

Try to get a CP reservation before park opening so you can take some photos on Main Street without the crowds.

That's what I plan on doing. Calories don't count at Disney lol I've been counting cals for the last year and down over 40 pounds so vacation I figure I won't think about it but my body is trained to eat less now.

We are trying sci fi for the first time this year. I haven't had a burger in a year lol so I'm looking forward to it.

Enjoy and happy anniversary! May there be many more!
