Planning on trying to do a trip in March 11. Our first trip was in Sept 09 we loved the dining plan!!!

We ate at CP breakfast
Plaza dinner
WCC- dinner
Chef Mickeys- breakfast

This trip where should we eat???? Would like a few charecter meals but different ones???

Give me all your favorites and any suggestions!

ok since I am not getting any hits I would say this have thought about

Ohana
Tusker House-Donald bfast
one of the princess meals........have heard there are better ones than CRT:confused3
Teppan de Epo

keep in mind we have DD who will be 4

Sorry...I don't get to the restaurant board very often.

I would do the Princess meal in Norway--but I would do breakfast. We didn't care for lunch and there's not much you can do to ruin breakfast. We'v e never done Tusker House but it gets rave reviews. After Crystal Palace breakfast our favorite is Cape May Cafe character breakfast.

Without knowing what kind of food you like, it is hard to suggest other places. Our must dos are Boma (breakfast), Plaza for lunch or dinner, Crystal Palace (breakfast). We also enjoy Sci Fi, Biergarten, Rose and Crown and Yak & Yeti.

Our "girl" is 4 when we go in Sept.
We have
Ohana breakfast with Lilo and Stitch (10:30)
Crystal Palace lunch with winnie the pooh (2:30)
Storybook Princess in Norway (10:30)
1900 Park FAir for dinner with Cinderella, prince and the evil step family(4:30)
Sci -fi for lunch (1:45)
and Donalds Safari breakfast at Tusker house (10:30)

we took later times so we can hog characters- everyone else wants the early times-- this gives us prime time touring and we will be ready for breaks at this time

Thanks everyone. This helps.

If we are going to do charecter buffets we prefer to do breakfast and order off menu for dinner.....

I forgot about Ohana w Lilo for breakfast! What is the difference between Princess Norway and 1900 park fare????:confused3

Norway has several of the Princesses only at least when we did it for dinner. Park Faire has Alice, Mad Hatter and so on.
Park Faire also has the Alice's Tea Party which is a seperate event just for kids.

Cape May has a character breakfast....usually a lot 'calmer' than the ones in the park.

I think biergarten is great....enough going on to keep the kids busy. No characters but many of the kids go down to dance during the show.

Garden Grill is the most relaxing character meal I've ever had in a park at disney. The rotating restaurant is interesting as well.

As for other restaurants that we really like...no characters though. The Wave, Kona Cafe, Coral Reef (watching the fish can really keep a kid busy).

When DD was 4 she loved CRT. There's just something magical about eating in the castle. Everyone should eat there at least once. She also enjoyed Ohana, Coral Reef and of course Chef Mickey.

Donald's Tusker House brkfst was fantastic! Great variety buffet, and our 4 children got to meet Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy in safari costumes. The characters also danced around the restaurant with the children in conga line fashion!

Can't wait to try 1900 park fare dinner with the Stepmother and Stepsisters (hard to find characters in the park!), and Akershus in Norway (breakfast preferred) with the same princesses that visit at Cinderella's royal table!

Crystal palace is great for little ones with Pooh and friends. They also have a separate "little" buffet for the children.

Hollywood & Vine at the Studios has the characters from Little Einsteins, which my children loved, at a breakfast buffet (but the food was just...okay).

You might check out the Garden Grill at EPCOT, where Chip 'n Dale, Pluto, and Mickey visit, while the restaurant rotates around for views of "Living with the Land" ride at the Land pavilion!

Over at the Pioneer Hall at Fort Wilderness is the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue, which is a fun saloon show with dinner. And on certain nights at Ft. Wilderness they have Mickey's Backyard BBQ where you eat bbq ribs and chicken outdoors with Mickey, Minnie, Chip 'n Dale, and Goofy with a live band and line dancing!

Good luck!:thumbsup2

My son loves character meals:
He loves Tusker House breakfast buffet (my husband and I also enjoy this one b/c good food, great juice and wonderful character interaction. They have a musical parade ever 30 mins and gives the kids musical instrument to use during the parade).
My son loves Hollywood and Vine character meal (The characters are Leo, June, JoJo and I think now its Handy Manny). They have a sing/dance ever 15 mins and a musical parade.
Cape May Breakfast buffet (characters dressed in swim outfits)
He likes CM and loves CP and CRT.
We have gone to 1900 park Fare for breakfast and Dinner (I would recommend breakfast but then Characters at dinner is wonderful but food not great).

Now granted I have boys but for character meals they love

Chef Mickeys - only have been for breakfast
Akerhaus - lots of princesses - shhhh don't tell anyone I said they liked it there - LOL - only have been for breakfast
Crystal Palace is awesome for lunch
Ohanas - Lilo & Stich Rock! (even my biggest boy DH likes it there)

Oh I forgot - Tusker House is really fun too!

Lots of fun choices.

Have Fun

The Wave is at the Contempary?? what about Kona where is it? do you do these places for dinner??? probably all our charecter meals will be breakfast light lunch and then big dinners

We do most of our characters at bkfst-gets us out of bed and starts our day on a good note! :goodvibes
We have also done character dinners and enjoyed them-they seem to take more time, energy....or maybe it's that we are just tired from the day! I noticed with my kids bkfst is better. Just like with getting pictures taken, they are more 'on' in the morning than evening. ;)
Also, try to do what you do at home-if kids aren't huge bkfst eaters, but chow at dinner then I would do that.

ps-yes, Wave is at CT and Kona is at Polly

we did teppan de epo and didnt like it all but that is probably becuase drinks arent included and neither is appetizer on the dining plan there.and wasnt impressed with the show they did. we get a better show at the japenese steakhouses where we live. We also didnt like the 1900 park fare found the princesses not to be very engaging and a few were rude and our waiter was rude. We are trying arkekshu or whatever it is called this time.

Hi there! Here are some suggestions:

Breakfast or dinner: 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian (breakfast characters, Mary Poppins, Winnie the Pooh & Friends, Alice, the Mad Hatter; Dinner is Cinderella, Prince Charming the ugly stepsisters..)

50's Diner in Hollywood Studios is a lot of fun for dinner.

Character Breakfast: Cape May Buffet at the Beach Club

Fave Park Meals: MK-Plaza Restaurant, Liberty Tree Tavern (like lunch better than dinner) Columbia Harbour House (counter service)

AK: Tusker House (or Flame Tree Barbecue for counter service)

EP: Teppan Edo, Marrakesh (belly dancer and sometimes Aladdin and Jasmine come in), San Angel Inn (love the volcano!), best counter service in all Disney is in the Living with the Land Pavilion...can't remember the name...but it's quite good.

Disney Studios: I always enjoy the 50s diner and The Brown Derby CAN be good, but it's been inconsistent. I usually just hop a boat to Epcot as there are so many better choices.

Lots of fun choices at Disney!
