Suggestions? Need 2 beds close to Epcot for good price

Hi!

I'm looking for help and some insights on resorts I haven't stayed at before:
I'll be at Disney in November 2-10 for Wine and Dine 10K. I thought I'd be going alone and was looking at staying at the BeachClub Villas by renting DVC points for around $1952. That was all great.

But now I have a friend interested in tagging along, so I need to change the plan. We're both bigger people (He's tall, and I'm round.) so I'm not sure the foldout in BeachClub will work, and I'd like a little extra space for privacy and so we're not at each other's throats from too much together time. I thought a 1 bedroom would work, but they also only have the foldout?

Any suggestions on how to get 2 actual beds in the Epcot area for not too much more money? I'm trying not to go over $3500 total for housing. Do the Epcot DVC resorts have any adjoining rooms? 2 studios would be almost perfect.

I do have an annual pass. How risky is it to wait until non-DVC room discounts would be offered for fall? Am I likely to miss out on open rooms at DVC resorts?

Thanks for any insight you may have. I think I'm psyching myself out here.

Correct. The 1 bedroom Villas have a king bed in the bedroom and a queen-size sleeper sofa. This is true for Beach Club Villas and Boardwalk Villas. I have slept on the foldouts at both and both were surprisingly comfortable.

That is a popular time for DVC, do you have an owner already lined up? Or were you going to work with a broker? If a broker, you may have a hard time.

Any suggestions on how to get 2 actual beds in the Epcot area for not too much more money? I'm trying not to go over $3500 total for housing. Do the Epcot DVC resorts have any adjoining rooms? 2 studios would be almost perfect.?

There are studios that are next to each other, but there are none that have an interior door connecting to the studio next to it.

You can get a standard room at Beach Club with 2 regular queens beds for that timeframe for $3900 which I know is more than you were looking to spend.

I feel it's pretty risky.

I'm not sure if you are looking for two beds, or two rooms. If two beds, I would check the Swan & Dolphin.
If you are looking for two rooms, I don't think you will find it for eight nights for $3500, but still take a look at S&D.
Agree with dansdad that the pullout at BWV was pretty comfortable.

Two beds are going to be the same, bedwise, as a studio or one bedroom...two queen beds. If you're going to want privacy, then I would go with a one bedroom. Yes, the second bed is a sleep sofa, but I've slept on it and it's pretty comfy! When I travel with a friend, we stay in studios..I tend to take the fold down murphy bed...I love it. I'm about 5'8'' tall, so not short, and moderately rounded! I do prefer having two bathrooms though. And you can't get that in a studio in the Epcot area.

All DVC studio Villas in Epcot Resort area are 1 Queen bed and 1 double sleep sofa. All 1 Bedroom Villas are 1 King bed and 1 Queen Sleep sofa. All Villas have 1 bathroom.
A hotel room would give you 2 beds, 1 bath.
If you want 2 real beds you will have to go to a 2 BR - 2 Bath Villa

You can either book Standard rooms at Beach Club, Yacht Club or Boardwalk, which will be quite a bit more expensive than a DVC can rental would have been had you been able to secure one in December, or you can look for discounts at the Swan&Dolphin, or you can stay elsewhere.

Lots of people running W&D do not stay near Epcot, due to budget, and they still have a great time. I think you need to seriously consider the options in your price range and accept that they won't be the deluxe Epcot options, or shorten your trip to accommodate that budget and a wish to stay near Epcot.

BUT.....at least the one bedrooms have a tub/vanity attached to the master, with the shower/sink/toilet space connecting with the main living area as well as the master area. That's a help, not perfect, but a help.

Yeah, we needed to book right at 11 months to get Beach Club. Swan and Dolphin will probably be your best bet. That said, I did the Half Marathon and stayed at Beach Club. It really wasn't any more convenient than a non-Epcot resort since I just jumped the bus after the race anyways.

Swan and Dolphin will be your best bet in the actual Epcot area. Check for their discounts - do you qualify for their teacher, nurse, or military discounts? They can be really good. Otherwise the moderates are nice, within your budget and have 2 queen real beds. We really like POR and CSR. It isn't a hardship at all to stay in those gorgeous resorts.

Thanks! I knew I was being more than a bit "pie in the sky" there. I feel like I can trust the foldouts now, and that'll give me more options as I look.

Darn! I wondered about that, since I've never tried at these resorts before. I kind of figured everyone would have the same preference as I for location. Thank you for being the voice of reason.
