My mom and I will be in WDW for 4 days in early December and need to figure out our meals. We are looking for table service meals for our MVMCP day (no park tickets, will enter park at 4pm) and our travel day (again no park tickets, depart WDW 3pm). I am looking for any suggestions of good lunch places, but we are hoping to spend one day seeing the monorail resorts and one day seeing the boardwalk resorts, so the best of these areas would be even better. Thanks for the help!

The Kona Cafe has THE best lunch! It's a must-do on every trip for us. They have the greatest island chicken sandwich and the best salmon I've ever had was the open-faced salmon BLT. The food here can't be beat! The desserts are great, too, they have a lot to choose from - huge brownies, chocolate cake, apple brown betty, etc. The atmosphere is also great. The restaurant is decorated in deep reds, browns and golds and is gorgeous. And be sure to look for the chocolate Lilo and Stitch!

The Kona Cafe is located in the Polynesian Resort which is right on the monorail line so it would be easy to get to, also.

I've heard great things about the Grand Floridian Cafe for lunch but haven't been there myself

Pretty much any resort lunch restaurant would be great, but my favorite is Concourse Steakhouse at the Contemporary. Stick with the deluxe resorts - the restaurants at the moderates aren't as nice, and there are no restaurants at the values.

How about in the Boardwalk area? It seems like we have some great options for the monorail resorts, but what about the boardwalk area? Do any of those resorts have good lunch options? Or spectacular breakfast/brunches? Thanks for all the great help so far. DMom loves the idea of Kona so far...

You could do Beaches and Cream for lunch. Check out the menus at allearsnet.com and you can see what place serves lunch and what the menu is. It is a HUGE help. You can also do a last seating at the Cape May Cafe for breakfast and use it like a brunch. The meal is very good for breakfast, we love it there. Then you could have time to walk around the area. There is a nice loop that you can see the BC, YC, Swan, Dolphin and then the BW and back.

Another vote for Cape May Cafe brunch (in the Beach Club). We love Beaches and Cream (between Beach & Yacht) as well. It is a great hot dog & hamburger place, decorated (and servers dressed) like an old-fashioned ice cream parlor (and the ice cream is great too). Cape May is less informal but still not formal in any way; very cute atmosphere. Another option is Spoodles for breakfast or lunch (on the Boardwalk); my family loves to have breakfast there. Kona is definitely a great meal, no matter when you go!

The Grand Floridan Cafe is great :thumbsup2 In addition, you can wonder through the Grand Floridan and enjoy the beautiful Christmas decorations that include a huge gingerbread house :santa:

I know it's a tough decision, there are so many delicious choices at Disney during the holidays.

We like the GF cafe too - food and service both great, and it was a haven of calm from the parks! We've eaten there twice, and returning again in December.

another vote here for the GF cafe, I have had breakfast, lunch, and dinner here, all wonderful!!! and then you can hop the monorail to the MK!
