We will be spending next Christmas at the Fort with our 4 children ages 2-13!:woohoo: It will be our 1st Christmas away from home (although our RV has become our 2nd home rather quickly!). Anyway, anyone have any suggestions on how to make it extra special for the kids while we're there? I'm talking about dining, etc. Especially things I might need reservations for in advance? We pieced a trip together at Thanksgiving, so dinner was not the traditional, but hey, we were in Disney!:goodvibes Thanks!

Hi, we will be at the Fort next Christmas with our 3 kids who by then will be 14, 12 and almost 8. Yikes !! It is also our first Christmas away (and boy am I already hearing it from my mom, lol :headache: ). Anyway- I am looking forward to doing something totally different with my family.

You will want to make any dining reservations ahread of time. Table Service restaurants fill up fast. When we were in the parks over Easter last year, they weren't even excepting walk ups most days. You can make those 180 ahead of time. If you want a golf cart, you should rent that ahead of time too.

We'll be there too!!!!! Our kids will be 12, 9 & 7 when we go. I bet Hoop-de-doo on Christmas would be a blast! Also places like O'Hana, California Grill or Narcoosees right at fireworks time would be extra special!

We should all get together for a Fort Family dinner! How fun would that be!

That sounds like a great idea! Our kids will be 14 (DD), 10 (DS), 6 (DS), and 3 (DS) when we go. We will be there 12/21-12/30. We just started camping, and the kids love meeting the other kids.

I'm curious about the Christmas Party and EPCOT Christmas activities. Now that we actually have reservations, I need to research to find what we want to do.

Non dining but...Surprise Disney gifts are fun at any age. My kids are 16 and still love to get the goodie bags when we go to WDW. I start buying about a year in advance. Anything from soaps, t-shirts, playing cards, pens, post cards, chapstick, pillow cases, flashlites...anything Disney. Of course as they get older they like older gifts. ;) We decorate a small tree in the RV so will have gifts under the tree next trip and some new Disney ornaments.

We'll add a Santa Hat to the Mickey light and our satellite dish has a Mickey painted on it, so will paint in Christmas colors.

We usually go in July and the kids get Disney beach towels. Since we're going in Dec. this time, thinking about making a Disney fleece tied blanket for them. It would be a nice WDW reminder on other camping trips.

We would always go to disney the day after Christmas. One year we decide to go for christmas. Mom didn't care but MIL sure was bent. :sad2: anyway we ate Christmas dinner at Narcossee's. I had DD wear the santa hat with mickey ears and DS wore a mickey christmas sweatshirt and had their pics taken in DTD with santa (and sent them to MIL). I was feeling guilty the whole trip but was so surprised to see how many kids are in Disney for Christmas.

We also put a small tree on the table in the RV, decorated only with WDW ornaments. Santa came and the tree was full of presents just as if we would have been home. DD was concerned but I told her Santa would have no problem getting into the RV :santa: We hung the stockings from the cabinets above and decorated the site. Christmas eve the sled came around and put little goody bags on the RV steps. (Don't know if they still do that)

We also did the thing in Epcot with dinner and then went to the telling of the Christmas story with the choir and all. We also went to the resorts to see the trees and of course the gingerbread house at the GF.

MIL/FIL got an RV just in case we try to skip town again ...

We'll have to plan something! We have ressies for Dec 13-26. Part of it is a grand gathering. We added an extra week to recoop from the GG! My 3 girls will be 12, 9 & 7! I've requested the 1500 loop, but we'll see :goodvibes
