We're bringing my DMIL along with us for our Western Carribean cruise in November, and I was looking for suggestions regarding enjoying DCL from the perspective of a Grandmommy. I'm sending her the link to this board, so suggest away!

Thanks for your help!

Well I am a grandmother and we take our 2 grandkids every year since they were 5 and 6. They will be 9 and 10 when we cruise in August. This is our plans for this years Western :
-
Key West - 2 hour Jet Ski Tour
Grand Caymen - Rum Point Beach snorkling
Cozumel - dune buggy tour

We will also be doing 5 days before at Captiva Island on the gulf coast.

My point is you have to tell how active you MIL is - not all grandparents are just bingo players. Just kidding, I am glad that we can still do things with our grandkids.

My DM, 67, & DMIL, 78 have joined us on our past two cruises.

The both loved spending time with the grandkids and of course the food/shows. They both enjoyed the chef class, and family games.

My DMIL loved that she could join in the activities for a bit then sit back and relax, the room or a lounge chair was never far away. She loved the buffets!

My DM had a wonderful foot massage..so relaxing. She and her hubby loved dancing in the evenings.

It is such a great vacation with grandparents. I know she'll have such a wonderful time! Take lots of pictures!

Excellent point. My mother in law is fairly active, although she tells me she has no interest in snorkling or laying on the beach. She's mentioned shopping, atlantis sub and the jeep tour as interesting.

We will be joining you this Nov. Me and DW are grandparents
and are taking our married DS and DD and their families with us for our 4th cruise as a family. Each time we go has been better
than the previous cruise. Our greatest pleasure is just spending time with the grandchildren while our children get to spend some time with their spouces without the kids. It doesn't get any better than that. See you in Nov.
