Hi all.. first time poster, long time lurker

We're off to WDW next March and our eldest will turn 12 while he's there. We'd like to make his birthday special, and I've read the tips about telling Cast Members, getting the birthday badge, etc.. but could do with your advice on what to do on the day itself.

What would your suggestions be for parks to visit, places to eat, experiences to have, to make sure he has a great day? So far, we've identified that the Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party might be a good way to round off the day - provided the fireworks are on that night of course! - but are open to ideas for the rest of the day. We will have the whole family in tow including younger siblings aged 2 and 5, plus grandma..

Our boy likes the usual 12 yo stuff - video games, funny stuff, sports, Star Wars...

Thanks in advance!

Peter

What about doing a Pirate makeover at the Pirate's League and then capping off the evening with the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage.

Star Wars you could do JTA and then Star Tours.

There isn't really too much boy stuff to do at Disney unfortunately.

Maybe a day trip to Universal or tickets to see the Blue Man group?

There's also the ride along experiences at the Disney track.

The dessert party sounds like fun. The big question is whether or not you have park hoppers and the ability to do a different park during the day or you need to be in MK all day. I like the simple idea of making it his day. He gets to chose what to do and which rides to do and where to eat. If you are at MK, he might like the Whispering Canyon Cafe at WL, Lots of fun humor. If he likes Star Wars, he might enjoy doing Star Tours and visiting the gift shop there. They have a make your own light saber that is pretty cool. I am not sure the age cut off for the Jedi academy, but it is right around 12. Cool places that our DS enjoyed eating around that age included Rain Forrest, Ohanas, 50 Prime Time, Corral Reef, and anywhere they had a good steak. There are fishing excursions, and the ability to rent water craft if you want something out of the parks. Cakes can be ordered and delivered to most restaurants.
