Suggestions for 1 year old at Magic Kingdom

We took my son at 18 months and he loved everything. He went on almost everything without a height requirement including Haunted Mansion. In fact, HM and another ride stopped while we were on them and he was fine waiting for the ride to start back up. If you think your baby will enjoy the parks, go and have a blast!

OP, recalling our youngest child visited WDW when she was 8 months old. Its about visual sights/colors and sounds/music. Its A Small World was a favorite and we rode it so much I could not get the song out of my head for weeks after our trip. Characters were also a hit (Mickey Mouse and Winnie The Pooh gang), which brings up the other end of experiences. Some children at this age may find characters frightening, so this can be an x factor event. Additionally, loud sounds are not good, so avoid rides with burst of noise (or fireworks)or ones with very loud sound levels as their hearing is still developing and these experiences can cause harm or be frightening too based upon the db level.

My daughter was 16 months when we went in 2012 and my son was 17 months when we went in 2014.

My daughter loved Its A Small World, Winnie the Pooh and the Tea Cups. She also liked the character meals and riding the boat from WL to the MK. She really took to Disney.

My son likes Ariel and taking the boat from WL to the MK. Didn't like the characters and napped often as we walked around the park. He really didn't show the same interest as my daughter.

We are going back this year and now that he is a little bigger, he and his sister have really shown an awesome sibling bond and are two peas in a pod. I think he is really going to be into anything his big sister wants to do.

We brought our 4 month old twins just this month. They loved everything and surprisingly did not get overstimulated like I feared. My girl loved and I mean LOVED the stormtroopers. She is too young to ask to be held, but she "asked" the storm trooper to pick her up! lol. We will be taking them again in December (they will be 10 months) along with my then 11 month old niece (3 weeks older than the twins) and her 5 year old brother. Should be a blast! Don't let the neigh sayers get you down!
