We need a car for 13 days in August out of MCO. I've been trolling the sites, using the odd coupon code, but prices still seem quite high ($440 to $700 and up), and that's for a compact. I won't rent off airport unless the savings is extreme, and even then, I probably won't. Priceline suggests $1000 is a fair price.

I know we're a ways out, booking-wise, just wondering if my only option is to keep checking. Thanks!

I just started looking also-did you try Alamo's code 299851 (corp. code)-that's the zoom zoom code that takes off a pretty good discount (we've used it in the past). I try to combine that code with a coupon code or upgrade code, and usually have some luck. I'll post if I see any good deals, we just booked The Portofino at Universal, so now my quest for a good car rental price is the next step!

Good luck with your search and thanks for the suggestion, haven't tried Alamo yet. I'll keep at it also.

Today I booked a intermediate SUV for $274 for the end of August through Costco and Alamo for 8 days. An intermediate car was $317 for Alamo and Costco. Good luck and keeping checking at different times during the day. I had an intermediate car last week through Budget for $325 for 8 days for the end of August.

just got a midsized for Aug 5-16 for $331, taxes in, Pick-up and drop off at MCO. Does anyone know if 2nd driver is included. Website says additional charges may apply?

Canadiankim,
Which rental place? If you belong to the memberships, like Alamo and National, a second driver is free. Check the terms, as my Alamo and Budget ressies show a second driver is included. Now, I do belong to both of their free membership.

I booked through Alamo for 12 days intermediate, $310 with Alamo, using BJ's upgrade coupon and 299851 as the corp. code. We pay for a tank of gas upfront, (you get charged the going price, not inflated). We have found this works good, when we return it we don't have to be concerned about filling up before hitting the airport. Including gas and taxes, it came to $347.82. I'm going to keep checking though!
