My daughters and I are thinking of checking into DW a few days early and just hang out at the pools, being lazy before we check into Boardwalk a few days later. We are not doing parks, but pla explore International Drive and go to the outlets, what do you suggest for a place to stay, we are open to anyplace that is clean and has a nice pool.

Animal Kingdom Lodge--great pool and you get all the animals on the savannah. Very good place if you are doing a no-parks few days since there is a lot to do in this self-contained resort with great food options and two fitness centers to choose from--also some limited spa services.

Well if you d like to avoid "more kiddos" perhaps not a value resort??Unless of course ur looking for an inexpensive room than Pop would be my value choice.
Personally I'd choose a mod or deluxe...poly, AKL, POFQ, POR for adult only..
If I were not doing parks or Disney springs but outlets and international drive, I'd stay outside and not deal with Disney traffic/people at all.
Enjoy wherever you choose!

There are tons of great offsite resorts that won't cost you a Disney arm and leg. Agree with LynneM to check out the Orlando Hotels board for more info. The Universal hotels are also fantastic!

On property.....AKL hands down. Off property, Gaylord Palms is nice. If your stay is around holiday time, the ICE display is wonderful and the resort is gorgeous.
