I love all of your Full House references! I still haven't made it to the GF on one of my trips, but I am determined to retrace the steps of the wonderful Tanner family someday!

Chapter 9- Wishes and Shopping Excursions​

July 25th, 2011​

HELLOOOO HUMANS!!!!! After an incredibly hectic first few days back at school, I am so grateful for the gift of weekends. However, I have TONS of homework. Blahh. So, in between being bored out of my mind by Common Sense I decided to do an update! Besides, Jess has been bugging me to do one for days. So here we go!

We continued our post-dinner journey on the monorail past the TTC, with our destination being the Poly. We got off and headed downstairs and outside to the beach. When we got there, they had Monster's Inc. playing for the guests' enjoyment. We watched that and took pictures of the scenery while we waited for Wishes to start!

Unfortunately, this is the only one that actually turned out somewhat well. I liked the color of the sky. And that on the ceiling in the CL lounge in the pic there's a hidden Mickey.

Soon enough we could hear the music for The Magic, the Memories and You and see the castle's appearance changing. Not long after that Wishes began! The view of Wishes from the Poly was GORGEOUS. They even paused Monster's Inc. and piped in the music! It was awesome! Some people even watched while they were in the pool. So cool. I absolutely loved it. It was awesome being able to sit on a hammock on the beach and dig your toes in the cool sand while you watched. And while I was doing that, Dave was snapping some pics.

After I teared up quite a bit at Wishes because of my overwhelming happiness to be at the Most Magical Place on Earth, we headed out to the Poly bus stop to catch a bus to DTD. A bus was there when we got to the stop, so we hopped right on!

We got there and headed to the Marketplace.

I love these guys! Fantasia was always a favorite of mine and Mike's when we were little.

Our first stop was the Disney's Days of Christmas store, which makes me think of Kara (MarietheCat) EVERY time now, because she always obsesses over it in her TR's.

I know, I know. I fit right in.

Once inside, I found LOADS of merchandise that I wanted to buy, but didn't, because I had that "It's my first night. I don't want to spend all my money yet." thing going through my head. Ah well. I'll show you some of these coveted items anyway:

I love Rex. He's my favorite Toy Story character.

After feeling that Christmas in July cheer, we headed to another place to hear much cheering. On our way, we passed the Disney Panera:

And one of my favorite structures in all of Disney World, the giant Tinkertoy! I used to play with these things ALL the time when I was little, for hours and hours. I love them.

Soon we arrived at...

Team Mickey! (Here's where you cheer...)

Mike absolutely LOVES that place. He's big on college football (particularly Ohio State, Go Buckeyes!) and golf, so this store was like Heaven on Earth for him. He bought ANOTHER Ohio State shirt, which I think makes like 8965269 in his collection. I don't have a pic of it, but it's red. And it says Ohio State Buckeyes on it. Ta-Da.

Once I had dragged Mike out of there, we went to the most iconic of Disney merchandise retailers.

World of Disney! After being spit on by Stitch, we headed into the total madhouse, which actually wasn't THAT mad, considering the time of day and year that we were there.

One thing I had never noticed before was that the castle in there, uhh this castle:

Yeah, it changes colors! Because one minute it looked like that, and the next it looked like this:

WOAH! I was thoroughly impressed. I think it only happens at night, and it changes to all the colors that the real castle does! Only in Disney, I swear.

Once we meandered through and made our way out by the Boutique entrance, we found ourselves by the newly remodeled Lego store! I LOVED the new Lego statues, they were so cute! Here are my faves:

Notice the deer in the second one? I do.

After that, we all decided that we were craving a little slice, or scoop, of Heaven. So what better place to go to than...

See the sign glowing? Told you it was Heavenly.

You scored a hammock to watch Wishes, awesome! As much as Dave's picture looks amazing, I'm not sure I would want to carry a small dog around the park all day... but it might happen as DH as set his mind on getting a good camera as our next big purchase.

Wow! You are right, only Disney will think of all the little details, like a mini castle in a souvenir store changing colors just like the real thing.

I almost stopped at Ghirardelli last time. I didn't, because I obviously did not know it was heavenly. I'll be better next time. Is it really that good?

I did! I was very excited about it.

He actually didn't end up taking it to the parks. Only on our first night and last day did he use it, for the same reason. He didn't want to lug it around with him. But thanks!

I know! It was so cool! I wanted to buy it and put it in my room.

It really is THAT good. And if you don't want to wait around for ice cream, grab a chocolate chip cookie to go. They're massive and AMAZING. ​

Chapter 10- My Glimpse of the Promised Land​

July 25th, 2011​

I know what you're thinking. Woah! Two updates in a row!? This is false. I had dinner in between. I kill myself. Anyways, on to the last update for this day! Yeah! We're making some progress!

Once we had passed under the glowing sign and into a land of smells and sights that are beyond all earthly comprehension, I knew that Heaven was for real. Anyone read that book? It's really good!

Anyhow, we got ourselves a menu and perused.

I decided on the Haight AshBerry, an unusual deviation from my usual banana split, which is strawberry cheesecake ice cream and blueberry cheesecake ice cream topped with blueberry and strawberry toppings, chocolate-covered blueberries, a hand-dipped waffle roll and whipped cream.

Dave decided on the Mint Bliss, which is mint chip AND chocolate ice cream topped with hot fudge sauce, whipped cream and mint dark chocolate.

Mike chose a chocolate milkshake. Pretty self-explanatory.

We also got three bottles of water. We were given this:

And told we could find a seat and they would bring us our ice cream when it was ready. They even bring it to all those tables across the little road outside. Lovely. And impressive!

We got a table inside and by a window. Perfect! While we waited I tried to find the hidden Mickey that I knew was in this mural:

I then took this pic of the new Disney Parks merch bags for this year. One side is Disney World, the other side is Disneyland. I'm not sure if it's a budget cut or what, but they're really pretty either way!

Pretty soon an angel came carrying a tray of destiny right to our table...

...Okay. Maybe it was ice cream. But that sounds so boring!

Everything was SO amazing! Mike's milkshake was super thick and delicious, Dave's was very minty and rich and wonderful, and mine blew my mind. It really did. I was a little nervous because when you think of Ghiradelli you think of chocolate, right? Yeah. Well mine had like next to no chocolate in it! So I was a little afraid that it wouldn't be that great, although I was willing to take the chance because I just wanted something light.

Boy was I ever wrong! It WAS super light, but also so yummy! It was very fruity and the ice cream tasted just like strawberry and blueberry cheesecake! I absolutely loved it and highly recommend it.

I then proceeded to gulp this baby down. I know it's just a water bottle, but doesn't it look extremely refreshing? Doesn't it make you want to drink some nice, cold water? YUM. I'm a big water drinker.

I then went into the bathroom to wash my hands, and was blown away for the second time in one update! The hand dryer was this super crazy, innovative thing that you stick your hands in and they dry in like 2.8 seconds, maybe less! I just wanted to see if you all get the Rock N' Roller Coaster reference.

Apparently they're super eco-friendly and they're also really germ-a-phob friendly too, obviously.

After getting over the shock of that experience, and realizing that I was like the last person on earth to use one, we headed back to POFQ, where we got ready for bed and hit the hay. It had been a long day, and we wanted to get up for Rope Drop the next morning! To where? You'll find out next time!

You definitely should! It's a great spot, and you don't even need park admission!

The Poly is definitely a great honeymoon resort! That, the GF or AKL would be my choice. They're all amazing. ​

Was it the Dyson hand dryer? I'm surprised they have those there, if that is what it was. Yellow?? lol LOVE those. I wish all the Disney restrooms had them!!! On a side note, I just saw that the regular hand air dryers are the most germ infested things ever. Somehow they harbor lots of gross stuff. So, I try not to use them.

Awwww yeah! Wishes! Your pictures are beautiful, though it is pretty obvious which had the better camera just saying, but still it's very beautiful. I think I may have to watch the video of Wishes I downloaded onto my iPod off the ************** podcast right now. I miss not being able to see my Wishes now (and yes I said MY Wishes, mine, mine, MINE!) Anyways, that's great you got to enjoy it on the beach. I would love to do that someday. I will have to remind myself to go get my butt on the monorail, first night and go see it

YAY for DTD! I love the Broom guys too! That's probably my favorite piece from Fantasia, well... maybe next to Night on Bald Mountain, but I don't know, those guys are just awesome. Tweedle Doo confused3) Haha And that's definitely how I feel the first night in Disney, not able to buy any souvenirs (I'm a Disney souvenir maniac, I'm amazed at how I only get away with so much :/ ) Big to Earl of Sandwich, need to really check that place out

The Giant Tinkertoy is pretty awesome! I still have those in my closet. I sometimes just take them out randomly and start making random stuff with them, being my weird self lol And I desperately need to stop by Team Mickey... hopefully they have some Boston sports attire other than Red Sox. If they did, that would just make my day I also would then be able to get a nice souvenir for my dad

World of Disney! Love that place! I think I probably could count it as a second part haha And I love how the castle changes colors at night, I will definitely have to test the theory of it changing in co ordinance with the real Cinderella Castle. Cellphones, check! Teehee The lego statues look fantastic too, my favorite is the Prince Phillip and Maleficent dragon one, though you didn't take a picture of that

Oooo... Ghirardelli! That place truly is heaven, I mean, why would the sign glow in any picture? Though I must check out the dessert half of the place since that seems where everyone goes, while I just mosey on through the other half and mob the free samples It's free! C'mon! And I think your food pics are taunting me enough! My mouth is watering right now! I'm not a big chocolate person, but I'm slowly being converted! They just look SO GOOOODDD *drools* Oh excuse me, I think I may have to get whatever you got, cheesecake=fast Timmy hehe

Those hand dryers are amazing, aren't they? I don't think I've ever been so mesmerized by those things in my life and those do that to me. They really dry your hands, it's AMAZING! I don't think anyone outside of the DIS will truly understand how epic these things really are.

P.S. I just had to tell you this but... I'm on Pottermore! FINALLY! It's so awesome there! I'm in Ravenclaw house by the way. I sent you a friend request on there, even though you aren't on yet, you are set into their database, so accept HexHazel91 and maybe once you have gotten your wand and been sorted (and Wizard Duel is back up), we could duel! Also, Ravenclaws have decided to team up with Gryffindors since we are obviously the best houses there. That is clever! Good topic. And you have 4 years of experience with it under your belt! Thesis: Single gender high schools allow the students to express their frumpiest of natures without the worry of being looked down upon by the opposing gender.

It is AMAZING! Definitely one of the best spots. I love it. The hammock definitely adds to the experience.
