Success Rate for Renting Points?

What is the success rate of renting out any unused points? I really want a 100pt VB add on (for the 11 mo window, not because I need points), but that MAY make me a little point heavy. If I didn't use them, how easy is it to rent them? Also, since we are responsible for damage ect..., has anyone ever asked for a security deposit? Thanx in advance.

I purchased a resale with a large number of banked points and had to sell off a bunch of points or lose them. I had pretty good luck finding willing renters at $9 a point. Some went for $10 a point. Most want studio accommodations, so it take a few people to dispose of all of your points. I had one member take 100 points from me at $9, which was pretty easy to handle. The other rentals ran about 22 to 36 points. The biggest problem was having people request dates that were hard to get. Usually, 2 months out was pretty booked. It took me about 4 weeks to get rid of the points. If you set your price low enough, you can move them quicker.
