We'll be eating at 50's Prime Time in November - Ds will be 10 and is excited to be considered an adult on the DDP, but he still likes to eat like a kid. He is interested in a couple entrees that come with mashed potatoes. He isn't crazy about mashed potatoes and would probably like to substitute fries. I know this technically probably won't be a problem, but how much "grief" should he expect from the server for asking...

I'm a 23-year old who definitely prefers fries to mashed potatoes, so I just need to see the answer to this question. Not so much how much grief, but will they let you substitute at all?

We ate there last March, and one person in our party asked for fries instead of the chips that came with her sandwich - no problem, and no grief at all-well, not for the substitution anyway! :rotfl:

Fries for chips is a pretty generous substitution! I wouldn't count on that everywhere or every time. But fries for mashed seems to be an even exchange, and as generous as Disney generally is, I think we could count on that being allowed almost everywhere most of the time.

My BIL prefers fries too, when he asked the server said something like- 'ya know Scooter you always make extra work for Mom...' He did get the fries though.
I have subbed onion rings for chips and paid a little extra.

Most resturants will acomodate your request as long as they have the item..

We had no problem substituting at 50s. Don't remember if DD wanted fries for mashed or the other way around (depends on her mood), but she got it.
