A friend of mine suggested, since our flight is sooo early in the morning, that I stop and get some Cinnibons to eat on the plane. Can I really take "fast food" on the plane? It had never occured to me to do this before, maybe I'm just slow.....no comments!!:D BTW, no breakfast is served on our flight.

Soooo, anyone know if it's okay to do this? Thanks!!:bounce:

We've done that before. No dirty looks from anyone, either. (well, maybe from the other hungry passangers. LOL)

I have taken McDonald's egg sandwiches, and their french fries and burgers . Delta Express from Newark does not have a food service, so lots of travelers bring hot food from the food courts on to the airplane.

Not only are you allowed, but IMHO Cinnabon should be a required activity. For some reason I have no problem bypassing Cinnabon at the mall, but at the airport I am a sucker.

My mother and I once took Chick-fil-a chicken sandwiches with us on our flight to Paris! Weird? Yes. But when it's 3 in the morning, you're over the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, and you can't sleep, they sure hit the spot!

Depending on which airline you're on, bringing your own food may be the smarter move. I was on a TWA flight last Easter that also served a "continental breakfast". This consisted of, and I'm NOT kidding, mini-bags fillled with a frozen muffin, a frozen container of orange juice, and a frozen yogurt. It was absolutely the worst we've ever been served.

We had a connection in St. Louis and we bought Burger King for the next leg, even though we were supposed to have lunch. Good thing too, because they served soggy (defrosted?) turkey-"ham" sandwiches. Our Whoppers were the envy of the entire flight!

I bet if you board with those Cinnabons and some Starbucks, you'll get some greedy stares as you walk past the First Class Cabin!!!

My 9yr son and I are staying at an airport hotel the night before our 7am flight. Hopefully my son will sleep that night - I dont think I will. So for a 7am flight we need to be at the airport at 6am which means getting up about 5am. The hotel has a continental breakfast. I think I'll just take something for us to eat on the plane - muffin, dry cereal, etc.

Absolutely bring them on with you...and watch your fellow travellers envious eyes ;-)

The only thing you can't bring on to consume in flight is your own alcohol.

I also try to avoid foods with aromas that might be offensive, McDonalds, fish, curry, onions, etc. But cinnamon, that's another story :-)

Look at all the replies to my silly question!! <LOL> Thanks for all the responses. Just like imgoingtodisney, we are getting up at 5am for a 7am flight and breakfast for me can not happen that early in the morning. I just can't eat before the sun come up! :p

Thanks again....Cinnabons and Starbucks....now that's the start to a great vacation!!:bounce:

MMmmm, I hadn't thought of this myself. We just opened up the first Krispy Kreme in Oklahoma and it's on my way to the airport. Wodner if I bought a dozen or so they might consider letting me fly in 1st class?! :D

I have been trying to decide what to do about food for my flight too--- we're taking US Air Metro Jet from LaGuardia, which has no food. As bad as the food can be, I'll sort of miss it-- our flight is at 7:30am, so I never feel like eating bfast at 5:30am at home. Also, flying with a kid-- the food service is one more thing that makes the flight, 2.5 hours, go faster. I guess I'll pick up airport food, even though it is too expensive (oh well, I'd better get used to overpriced fast food, I'll be eating it all week!;) )

This question made me giggle! Our administrator here at work tells this story(I am sure it was funnier with his telling): He and several college age friends were on a flight that was only serving snacks, so one of the mothers had prepard beautiful big pastrami sandwiches. They pulled them out mid-flight while everyone else was eating peanuts and they began munching. Well, they smelled so good that many passengers were giving them envious looks and several began asking where they got them. The boys said "from the flight attendent". Well, this got them all started and they began asking the flight attendent for theirs. The boys kept a straight face through all this and insisted that that was where they had gotten them. A general commotion occured, as you can well imagine! Finally the flight attendent went to the Captain who had to talk to the boys and he told them they must announce that they had not received them from the crew. So, they boys took the microphone and announced to everyone that they had not received the sandwiches from the crew, but then added that the captain was forcing them to make this announcement! Needless to say, they were not allowed to fly on this airline again for quite some time.

Laura!!!! That is soooo funny! I bet he and his friends have lots of good stories to tell....sound like some naughty boys!! :p
