Stupid humidifier question

I just bought a humidifier for my bedroom. I'm setting it up, and the instructions say to place the humidifier on an elevated firm flat lint free surface. It says not to place it on a towel, carpet or wood surface. I will admit that I'm not feeling well and am not thinking clearly, but where, pray tell, am I supposed to place this thing? My bedroom has carpet and all of my furniture is nice cherry wood.

I have nice cherry wood furniture too, and I put my humidifier on a towel on my nightstand.

We keep ours on our old t.v. trays. They are wood, and it has warped them some, but we really didn't care since they are only used for the humidifier.

I put a hand towel under it on my nice wood nightstand as well. I didn't know what else to do. See, great minds think alike, even if we are under the weather.

We use one in our son's room - it sits on a couple of Rubbermaid containers stacked on top of each other.

We had the same conversation when we first got it for him! Hope you feel better soon.

Put it on a cookie sheet. Set it on the dresser or wherever you like to place it. The cookie sheet will catch spills and save your nice furniture

Oh, the cookie sheet is a great idea. You could use a 13x9 pan too.

I have always kept a couple solid plastic placemats for these uses. I use a CPAP with a humidifyer and have two placemats on my bed side table with a fabric cover over it. It has worked very well.

I think the cookie sheet is a great idea.

Be aware if you put it very close and have it set on high you will end up with wet bed linens. You might also creat 'fog' as we did one winter. I have a tendency to turn it full blast.

We have ours on one of those cheap, plywood end tables that you buy at Walmart. We've been using it for about a year now with no warping.
