We are planning (first trip for us all) on going to WDW in Sept 2015 for our 25th wedding anniversary. I had hopes that our daughter and son-in-law would go on the trip as well. Our daughter is all for it, but our son-in-law doesn't think there are things he would like to do. He is into cars, fishing, guns...etc. Any ideas?

The race track at MK has a ride along program. Several resorts offer fishing, both from dock or you can go on guided fishing tours.

Does he like to golf? WDW has some world class golf courses. I second the Richard Petty driving experience idea, it is a ton of fun. You can always rent a boat or do guided fishing tours. Try going over to Fort Wilderness
for horses, archery and more "outdoorsy" stuff. I'm sure he can have a great time too!

My dh and brother inlaw loved the Richard Petty experience. They did the ride along program twice. We had a great time watching them from the stands. We love to rent the boats and spend a couple hours on the water. Fishing is another option. Canoes at Fort Wilderness are fun, bowling Downtown Disney may interest him. Happy Anniversary!!!

This is what my sister said to her husband in a similar situation:

"Suck it up. This is important to my family, so please come along and smile and at least pretend you are having a good time."

And in the end, he actually DID have a good time, without anything special like the driving experience or a fishing excursion.

Those are all great ideas! Thanks for taking the time to respond. I was hoping that my daughter might take the "do it for the family" route, but they haven't been married long and that hasn't happened yet.

I mentioned all the ideas to my daughter for them to look over. Crossing my fingers and hoping something appeals to him.

Hidden mickeys, buy a book ahead of time so he can memorize some places to find them. Walk around the last minute is not as much fun. Also, some book called 500 things you didn't know about Disney. The unique and unknown things he could learn put a twist on the Magic of Disney, instead of Disney's magic.

Does he like trains or hiking? Maybe one of the specialty tours at magic kingdom or Animal Kingdom.
