We've only stayed Ina AKL Jambo SV studio. We are looking to possibly get two studios again for a trip with grandparents for next fall (2014) and usually rent points. I know BLT are small and OKW are large but really need opinions when we will have 3 kids in tow ages 8,6 and 2. All boys.

In 2007 we stayed at OKW in a studio suite and it was quite spacious. I would pick OKW again for a studio if I had the choice because from what I have heard, since OKW was the first DVC, they built the studios a bit bigger than the more newer ones. The one we stayed in also had a very large bathroom, and everything was in that bathroom, not separated sinks like in a regular room.

Studios are not next to one another and often, you don't get 2 studios close to one another. Although OKW studios are huge, I would be concerned about being in 2 separate buildings there.

If you want the rooms in close proximity to one another, I would rent at one of the smaller DVC locations-BCV, VWL, GFV, or BLT. While you still can't have studios next door to one another (we often don't even get the same floor) at least you will be in the same building.

We were lucky enough to get two right across the hall at AKL the last time. We may try a 2 bedroom. This is the last time our family of 5 can do a studio of we travel alone or a regular room at VWL or AKL and then we would have to bump to 1 bedroom or other deluxe resorts. So trying to maximize savings if possible on accommodations.

The upside of OKW is that their studios have two queen(I think that's the size) beds, but they don't have a couch. BLT studios are really small and I would hesitate to put five adults in them. They have a bed and a couch. Unless all three boys are going to sleep on the couch--you may have a space problem. To me, SSR has the largest studios. They still have a bed and a couch, but are more roomy. I know it's more points, but have you considered getting a two bedroom that is actually a 1 bedroom with a studio attached? That way you can be next to each other and the grandparents can have their own room. Maybe one of the kids can sleep with grandma/pa at night. If I'm wrong about how the 2 bedroom is set up, someone will post(I usually stay in studios).

We are considering a 2 bedroom also. Our one child will probably sleep in grandparents room anyways. I actually found the studios more roomy than our regular room at WL. It's still more economical to rent than pray for a discount at the time of year we want to go so want to be prepared.

the VGF will be open then - and their studios are much bigger than BLT.
of course the price per point is also much higher.

if you want to be close to the MK.

there is also VWL - it has queen bed and double sleeper sofa like the others (except OKW) and is fairly close to the MK.

now you can't walk to the MK from either VGF or VWL. Only BLT has that advantage.

VWL is a very nice place.

Many resorts have studios next to each other but they don't have a connecting interior door. The Village Green area at BWV is all studios.

Does anyone know if all the dining options at VGF will be in GF hotel? I like how things are laid out at VWL. Such a toss up at it is also our 10th anniversary gift to ourselves.

There is no dining at the GFV. The building is only villas. You go to the GF to catch Disney transportation, to shop and to dine.

We love WL. One of our favorites.

then would go with it.

you know where everything is already and you could be up high and grandparents could be lower (on first floor).

VWL is a pretty small resort - so even if you aren't on the same floor - you won't be far away.

try for the lake side - you probably won't see the lake - but the not so pleasant views are on the other side. This is such a beautiful place that I don't like to get the service building view (this is non-lake side)

No, Pat. The other side has beautiful woods views.

Really loving the split bathroom design at VGF. Hope Disney carries this over in future additions!!!! Since our kids are still small we prefer to be near MK although our stay at AKL villas was magical.

some of the non-lake view are nice. but having had the service building twice - would never stay on that side again. It is also the side where you can get a view of the roof of the bus stop.

VWL and WL is much too beautiful !

don't ever count on anything with DVC.

many members were hoping that VGF in the 1-bedroom would have 2 bathrooms like BLT and AKV - Kidani - but for some reason - it does not.

well really love BLT myself. although those studios are fine for single (me) or couples - for a family of 4 - they just don't have enough liveable area. Although there are several DVC members who will argue that point. If your family gets along well in tight spaces - then just might go for BLT. If not - well no ones knows your family as well as you do.

it is definitely my choice - especially for the Christmas stuff - being able to walk back and forth to the MK is a big plus for me.

We did a 2 bedroom lock off at VWL 4 years ago with Grandparents. It was GREAT! The lock-off gave the grands to ability to close the door for privacy. I would always choose a 2 bedroom over 2 studios!
