Studios Overload, a Pop Mishap and One Smooth Talking Hubby FINAL DAY UP. PG 68

Good job Kelly! This was the most awesomest (yep) Hollywood Studios Trip Report ever!!!

Hey, I am not knocking it all... we love the Studios too!

The important thing is that Trent had a great time!

And despite the bumps in the road, you and Steve had a great time too!

Plus you got to see me, Carla and UJ!!!

Mission accomplished! :thumbsup2

Thanks Nicole.

I am glad you enjoyed it

Yes, was awesome seeing all of you.

I hope we get to do that again....

:wizard:

sounds like a fun last day.

and that stinks about your luggage, we had good luck with them 2 years ago

After a good night's sleep, what did we wake up to? Any Guesses?

A lovely mess in our tub again. For your viewing pleasure

Trent and I were having a Mommy and Me Day. I let him pick where we were going.

Here is a self portrait of us before it filled up

trentandmeselfshotatindy.jpg

We made sure to put Trent on the left, so he got a nice spray of water :rotfl:

I forgot to mention that first thing that morning, I called Disney Dining and scored us a table at Big River Grille. It was going to be us, my Bil, his friend and my niece.

Stay Tuned to find out........

How will we like dinner?

What Christmasy thing did we do after Dinner?

How Smooth is my Husband ?

Booo Booo Booo for the tub being all dirty again! I hope you guys fix this soon -- They owe you an upgraded room now!! Hope your smooth-talking hubby got it for you all!

Having a mommy-son day at Disney sounds great!! I can't wait until both girls are old enough so we can do that with them, too!

hmmm, Big River Grill ... I was going to plan to eat there this July, since it's near to BWV where we are staying, but All Ears folks gave it horrible reviews...so I'm guessing you had an "ok" meal but wouldn't eat there again (but personally I hope you had a great meal there!!)

Ok, still catching up...

While Trent and I were in the arcade, Steve went up to the front desk to talk to them about our room

SARATOGA SPRINGS, CAROUSEL SECTION, IN A SUITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a difference from Pop. I felt like a movie Star :rotfl:

So now I may have to add Big River Grill onto the list! I'm glad you had a great meal there!

Yeah, yeah for Steve!!! I was right (no, I didn't sneak a peek ahead!)

I can't wait to hear how you all liked Saratoga Springs!! They always have openings there -- Steve was right to complain. Good one on mentioning Facebook!! I have to remember that one!

We were so in love with our room. I seriously did not want to leave my room for the next 2 days.

I don't know how we are every going to stay in a value again after experiencing this amazing hotel.

This is exactly how we feel all the time too! I'm sure you all esp loved the extra space. Hope you got a chance to use the jacuzzi tub, balcony, kitchen, etc.

You are going to be sooooo spoiled now!!:lmao:

It was nearing our time for our reservations at 1900 Park Fare.

We hopped the resort monorail to Grand Floridian and checked in. We only had to wait about ten mins to be seated.

We checked out the Gingerbread House while we waited

Thanksgiving2009DisneyGrandFloridia.jpg

Once in there, we were seated and buffet explained to us.

Well, we did not get any pictures. Why, you might ask?

Well, Trent was scared of all this charcaters and everytime one came near, he hid under the table :scared1:

I would talk to the character for a minute and explain he was too shy and off they would go.

He would come back up after they left.

This happend about 5 times..

No more characters meals for us I guess

Despite this, the food was very good and service was great.

After dinner, we decided to go back to MK, as I think they had EMH.

We went and rode Big Thunder Mountain again as it was only ten min wait :yay:

Then we strolled around and Steve decided to leave and go back to the hotel. He had to go and get all the stuff "Santa" had bought packed away before Trent got back.

SO it was just Me and Trent for the evening. We went and got on Dumbo first... We got one with blue hat, which made Trent happy:thumbsup2

After that we decided to go over to Tomorrowland.

We hopped on TTA. That ride is just so relaxing and I love it

Steve and I had talked about taking Trent on Space Mountain. He was tall enough, but we didnt like that fact that he had to sit by himself

Well I talked with Trent and told him he had to sit alone and it was in dark and he was totally cool with it.

So we waited in line and it was so long!!!

I asked him a few times.. Are you sure you want to ride? He kept saying yes.

First they wanted to sit him in front row with no one in front of him. I said no way. I want him behind someone. They were very nice and moved us into 2nd batch of cars. He sat in front of me.

Me like a dummy, forgot to take off my glasses before the take off, so with one hand, I squeezed my glasses and other hand I had on Trent's shoulder.

I know he was not going to fall out, but made me feel better :rotfl2:

Trent said he loved it :woohoo:

After that, I asked him if he wanted to try astro orbiters. I had not been on that in over ten years.

He was game for it.

Try getting in that with your child and huge back pack....That was not fun :scared1:

But overall, he had so much fun and said it way better than Dumbo :thumbsup2

Well, park was about to close, so we made our way to front of the park to head back to SSR

Trent fell asleep on the bus and Steve and his brother came to meet us to walk us back to the room, as I was totally lost :rotfl:

Once back to the room, we put Trent in bed and Steve, myself, his brother and niece just hung out and chatted for awhile.

Up next......Our last Day :sad1:

I can't believe that Trent was afraid of the characters but loved Space Mountain! It's so funny what our kids like and don't like.

So Trent is definitely growing up -- finding out there are much better rides than Dumbo! What a sad and happy day at the same time!:goodvibes

After some thought, I think we are going to put off DL for a few more years until Trent is older and will remmeber more of the trip. DL will more than likely be a one time thing and I want him to be old enough to remember it

Steve and I were saying how cool it would be to take Trent one year to Star Wars Weekend.

I just made a new ticker and think we will be hitting DW in May 2011 during Star Wars Weekend :thumbsup2

yes, May 2011!!!

That is when we are planning to go next! I'd love, love, love to meet you!!

We don't have dates picked out yet, but I'm hoping to do the 2nd and 3rd week of May. I want to avoid Memorial Day weekend and the crowds.

Can I tell you just how much I hate, hate, hate, going-home day!

I even hate it when it's not my day to go home but I read it in someone else's TR. It's just such a sad day. I sooo get caught up in all the magic and never want to go.

Thanks for taking us along on your trip! Sounds like DHS was a great hit! and good that you could get on ToT one last time.

So now you need to do a "lessons learned"!:rotfl2:

Thanks Faunt

That cheap price keeps sucking us in, but no more of that

Never had a time to use Jacuzzi.

But we did enjoy the ktichen and balcony. Such a pretty view

Kids do keep you guessing all the time

Yeah, it was bittersweet :lovestruc

Oh how cool

Our dates are not picked out yet either, but should definitely be before Memorial Day weekend.

Definitely have to meet up if we overlap :woohoo:

I agree

Last day is so sad. You can always feel the sadness in other reports on their last day, too

I will have to think if I learned anything new popcorn::

awww how sweet that you let Trent play in the room some. Jumping on the bed, so classic!!! :thumbsup2

Nicole you are too funny!! (DHS trip report)

Glad you got a ride in on ToT!!

I think I'd have bought 2 hamburger meals or something at SSR and gave them away! I hate that Disney makes money off those extra meals that they KNOW people will end up with. As much as I love Disney, they make enough money. LOL

Hd to let him enjoy the room a little bit before we leave :lovestruc

Love TOT.......:thumbsup2

If there had been anybody else in food court, we would have done that.

But that place was deserted which was oh so nice :thumbsup2

Kelly you certainly learned to get Trent a camera, or give him a few disposables...that way you can make a picture book titled "The Toilets of DisneyWorld" and become a millionaire!

We had that happen to us at Beach Club. We were there for lunch and another couple had 4 CS leftover. No one else wanted them and we were just starting our trip, but on the dining plan. I said, I'd hate to have them go to waste, so would take them, too!

Yes!!!:rotfl2:

THAT IS CRAZY THAT YOU SAY AIRTRAN DAMAGED YOUR LUGGAGE!!!!

I haven't started on that with my TR but from when I dropped it off at Dayton till when I got to Orlando, my wheel was pretty much almost broken off. The suitcase was new and only used in Dec when we flew with Delta.

What on ur luggage was damanged? I was not able to fly how with it broken that much and ended up at Walmart in Kissimmee to buy new luggage. Perhaps I should have raised heck about it?!! I have a $54 credit with Airtran which I'll use and stick with Delta or drive to the next nearest airport with Southwest!

First time, there was rips in it, scratched all over and it was bent on one of the edges.

Same thing.. Luggage only a year old.

This time, they bent the crap out of handle that pulls out so you can roll it behind you. We were not able to do that this time as they ruined handle so bad.

Hate them :headache:

that reminds me I had forgotten to comment on that!!!

You pay for your bags to fly.....and then they get damaged!!:mad::mad:

Southwest, Southwest, "Bags fly free!!" :thumbsup2

Marsha that thing about the meals is good Disney karma!! :thumbsup2

I hope that happens to me one day. haha

On a side note, we went to Applebees tonight and had a $25 gift card. We both had waters (cause everything they have to drink is nasty to us...pepsi products and NO Dr. Pepper or Mr. Pibb. WTH?? --- and don't say a darn thing Kelly!! :rotfl:)
Anyway we did the two for $20 and after tax it was under $22, then we left an extra dollar on top of the remainder of the giftcard, for the tip.

Why am I telling you this? Because after we left, I said, "wow, we just ate for ONE DOLLAR! I only know one place we've eaten cheaper than that and that was a few years ago.....DISNEYWORLD! When we had the dining plan and tips INCLUDED!" So we reminisced a bit. Ahh, those were the days.

I wish we had Southwest closer to us :( Dayton is 50 mins away and they don't have SW and Cincinnati is 30 mins away and does not have SW. Columbus and Indy both have them but they are both 1.5 hr away..I don't know if I can justify that drive unless they have SUPER cheap rates!
