Does anyone know if Hollywood Studios is really closing at 8 on 8/22/14/ or has this been changed and not updated on the website's park hours? The only day that I have seen that has been omitted from the Frozen Summer activities was 8/23/14 (night of Villains Unleashed). Anyone have any info?

Checking multiple calendars, DHS looks to be closing at 8PM (with a Fantasmic! starting at 8:30PM, running until 9PM) on Aug. 22, 2014.

So should it be assumed that there won't be Frozen Summer events that day as well?

If those hours are correct, they'd have to make changes in the schedule of (or cancel some of) Frozen events.

But, anything can happen between now and then.
Just keep checking.

I've been super-ultra-lurking on these boards almost daily for years, but never post--

We actually have the Premium Frozen package booked for the 22nd, so this clearly caused panic in my house. So I called Disney last night, and the CM I spoke with assured me that they would be closing the gates to guest entry at 8:00 but that 8:30 F! would still happen AS WELL AS THE FROZEN FIREWORKS AND DESSERT PARTY.

I posed the question to him like 5 different ways, just to make sure he understood what I was asking-- and he assured me that I was good with my package tix, and that Frozen events were not being changed.

However, I'm probably going to call again today to speak with another CM just to confirm. I usually don't feel comfortable with information regarding my vacations at WDW unless and until I have it confirmed on DIS anyway :)

What happens if I have a FP for August 22nd for Fantasmic! and it says return 7:50-8:20 and I don't get to HS until 8, will they let me in since I have the FP so I can view the Frozen fireworks?

Get there before 8. Don't chance it.

You have to be in the park before 8pm. Although the fp return time is after park hours end that is because the show is 30 minutes after. It is not uncommon for HS to have a fantasmic 30 minutes after park closing.

I hope they amend the schedule soon. I don't want to alarm anyone but right now the official schedule released to CMs does not have the fireworks listed on the 22nd or the 23rd. That does concern me because it is listed on every other night except for the 22nd and 23rd. We know the 23rd is for Villains Unleashed but it doesn't have anything listed to explain the closing at 8 on the 22nd.

So I called DVC member services-- she told me she sees fireworks scheduled for every night except the 22nd. But suggested I call the dining line because that's where I made the reservation.

So I called the DWD-DINE line-- the CM tried to tell me that F! was still going on that night and it was the same thing as the fireworks. He had no idea what I was asking.

So I chatted with a CM on the Disney site who assured me that if I have a ticket, I will have the full event.

My bigger concern is that Disney will cancel the Frozen stuff without ample time for me to arrange my plans. Because I have 6 year old Frozen addict, so it's kind of a big deal here.

And I am now 100% convinced that the DIS is the only helpline I need to properly plan a WDW vacation, because the guys on the other end of the Disney lines seem to be the last to know sometimes (which is so not fair to them). I really can't thank you all enough for the time you take to answer questions that could not be sufficiently answered elsewhere!

What is sad is I didn't access anything that he couldn't of accessed. It took me 2 minutes to discover it wasn't listed. It may be a fluke and be changed (since the blog is telling people the fireworks are happening on the 22nd) but if you can change you DHS day I would.

I had a similar conversation with cast members before booking the August 22 package. It seemed to me they were still going to have the Frozen activities but close the park at 8. I hope they adjust the dessert party to include time to enjoy it and that it doesn't feel rushed. It actually seemed they were surprised about the 8 o'clock closing. I wonder if they plan on allowing the fireworks and stage show to go on but close all the other attractions but it does seem unusual.

Even with an 8:30 Fantasmic the fireworks are at 9:45 every other night. That just seems like a lot of dead time with no attractions open.

I'll update if anything changes on the CM calender. Right now it does have all the other Frozen activities just not the fireworks.

Oh man, I've adjusted this vacation so many times it's starting to feel crazy. Between the shifting of the EMH a couple weeks ago, and the addition of Frozen stuff, and now this snag-- my husband keeps getting the emails alerting the ADR changes, and he thinks I'm losing it a little (which I think I might be...).

I can't bear the idea of rescheduling meals and FP so close to the trip, so I think we're going to stay put with the 22nd for now and just wing it. If it cancels, well, I had mixed feelings about $220 for it anyway.

The funny thing is until this trip I made my ADR's at 180 and never looked back. Just went and did our thing. This is stinky....

I thought the Frozen fireworks were at 915 on the nights that Fantasmic is at 830 and 10? So maybe they would be at 915 on the nights that there is only one Fantasmic at 830 (with the dessert party starting earlier). Not as much dead time.

Let's see, 8 o'clock closing, 8:30 Fantasmic, dessert party 8:00 to 9:30 with 9:15 fireworks does makes sense. I guess it's assumed people will either go to Fantasmic and then watch the fireworks or go to the dessert party- only real "dead" time would be people who choose not to go to Fantasmic or party but still waiting for fireworks.

The thing is the fireworks aren't listed. The calenders that CMs have from the Hub list the entertainment for the days or any extras and it lists the Trading Post hours, hours of the sing alongs, and the processional but there is no mention of the fireworks. That was what had me concerned.
