Our home resort is OKW and we love it there...however I am squeezing in a trip this summer ( a mom and 3 teens girls - DD's and a friend)...we only have enough points left for a studio. We will be there 5 nights...and only doing 1 park day (have left over tickets to water parks and Disney Quest for the other days)

Any suggestions for which resort would be best?? As much as we love OKW, I don't really like the studios there as much as the other resorts (prefer the sitting area with couch to the 2 beds and no place to sit)

My DD's like hanging out at Community Hall at OKW and they swim a lot, but since we have 2 days worth of water park tickets I don't know how much time they will spend at the resort pool.

All suggestions welcome.

I can only speak for SSR. The 65 points for a studio @ SSR are a happy medium between the 55 points at OKW and the 70 pts at BCV, BWV, and VWL.

I'd say the BWV's. My teens love the Community Hall and the whole Boardwalk atmosphere, as well as the quickest walk to MGM. The BWV's have a very high coolness factor. Just ask my 17 year old.

I was going to suggest BWV also. I would think the teens would like to stroll around the boardwalk. It's very "cool" you know! ;)

BWV has lots of activity and I know when my kids were younger they enjoyed roaming around the Boardwalk at night. If not, BCV where you can still enjoy the Boardwalk activities and also Stormalong Bay.

Thanks for all the responses...I think BWV sounds like the way to go...I think they will really like evenings on the Boardwalk and we can save some points with a standard view room. Plus I had forgotten they had a community hall over there with activities...that will help also.

Thanks!!

It might be difficult to get a standard view studio for this summer at this point. I would call Monday to see what your options are.

I also have to agree with BWV. The boardwalk at night is great for teens and I think they will love the pool as well.

I took my 2 teenage nieces (17 YO at the time) down a couple years ago and we stayed at BWV. They really loved it there. They enjoyed the Boardwalk atmosphere and buzz of activity. The Community Hall didn't interest them much, but they did like laying out by the scary clown pool. They also thought it was way cool to be so close to 2 of the parks.

BWV definitely has my vote, with BCV a close second because of its proximity to the Boardwalk.

Good luck! :sunny:

If BWV doesn't work for you--my teenager boys love BCV (our home resort). You have the proximity to BW but also Epcot and MGM. And of course, SAB and Beaches and Cream.

Good luck! :Pinkbounc

Thanks for the input....I opted for BW....called Monday AM but could not get a standard view studio for first week of August....had plenty of availabilty for preferred view studios and they had 1 and 2BR standard views available.

I almost wimped out and borrowed points to do a 1BR at OKW...but the girls were psyched for BW (said they would take a BW studio over the 1BR at OKW....so I saved my 40 points) so I went on and booked the preferred view studio

I waitlisted for the standard view....but doubt I will get it (I have the absolute WORST track record ever with waitlists....this makes about the 5th time in 10 years I have waitlisted and to date I have never gotten anything I waitlisted for....although 3 of those times I called back after the waitlist expired close to arrival date and had no problem booking what I wanted....it was available after all....go figure....if it wasn't for these boards where I read about people getting their waitlists all the time I would think DVC just made up the waitlist as sort of a consolation prize and never actually called anyone on them!!)

Anyways we are looking forward to our first BW studio trip, thanks for the input.

Did you get preferred BW view? If not, you might want to wait list for that as well.

Speaking from the experience of taking teens more than once to the BWV - it's the place for them! They love love love the freedom of being able to go out on their own without actually leaving the resort area, (although now they are old enough to do just that). Two of their favorite spots are Beaches and Cream for the Kitchen Sink! and ESPN for lunch or dinner or just appetizers! They also like the quiet pool, and Community Hall for ping pong (I think that's what they do there anyway!) It is a great location for coming and going into MGM and Epcot, very easy for them "not" to get lost en route. It's a fav of theirs and a fav of ours as well. The studio's are very nice, lots of room near the "little kitchen". Two sinks, one in the little kitchen area and one directly across from it in the vanity area outside the bathroom. Very big closet and it has the table and two chairs, the sleeper sofa, and if I remember correctly, a cushioned bench. Have a really great time!
