We are going to Disney in May and have a 2 1/2 year old. We figure we won't be going out much at night and it would be really great to be able to request a studio at the BCV that gives a good view of the Illuminations show. Me and DH can sit on the balcony with a bottle of wine and enjoy the show!

Has anyone stayed in a studio with a good view???

We stayed in room #559, a lock off studio. We could see the high fireworks and the top of the flames. We even knew when the fireworks were about to start because we could hear the announcements and see the flames on some of the torches around the lagoon. We could faintly hear the music too. We popped popcorn and drank cocoa . It would have been even better if there was some way to turn off the outside porch lights which have no switch and come on automatically at dark. Good Luck !

Hooray! DH, myself and our 2 1/2 year old little girl will also be staying in a studio at BCV in May (13th - 27th) after 3 nights at VB. We too have the same request as you......we'd love to watch fireworks from the balcony.

Good luck with your quest. See you there?

Cool! We will be there from the 13th (12th at ASSm) to the 22nd. It will be our first stay at the BCV.......after this cold snap, we are SO looking forward to it!

There are 2 views that see the fireworks:

One is called a garden view, this view also sees spaceship earth and a canel with an alligator and turtles, the only unfortunate part about this view is that Epcot Resorts Blvd is also right below this room, we actually really enjoyed this room, my kids spent a lot of time on the balcony looking at the alligator. We also came back to the room, put the kids in the pjs and poped some popcorn and watched illuminations, then put the kids right to bed. It was the best vacation ever! These studio rooms would be 475, 469, 463, 563, 461 and 561. These rooms are a bit away from the main elevators, but close to the second elevator.

These rooms are around the corner a bit and don't get as much of the road noise or see the canel, they would be 561, 461, 559, 459, 555, 455, 540, 440-S, 544, 444-S, 550, 450-S

The second view that sees fireworks is called woods/wetlands, it also sees woods and wetlands (go figure), this is a peaceful view, but my kids didn't care for this room as much as the one with the alligator and turtles, these rooms would be 531, 431-S, 527, 427-S, 525 and 425-S. (The ones with the -S are smoking rooms)

We stayed in studio #561(5th floor - Epcot view) for just one night last Aug. and were able to see both the fireworks at Epcot and also were able to see the fireworks from over at DTD that they set off at Midnight.

It was a dedicated studio and also right near the elevator (not the main one but the secondary one). It was great! Not only did we have a view of the fireworks and Epcot, but the elevator that we were near lets off on the ground floor right outside the quiet pool - so that was really nice too.

I stayed in #339, dedicated studio, and saw some of the fireworks and heard the music faintly. But if you want to have something funny for posterity, try videotaping it from there. The video picks up no music, and the fireworks sound very loud, like bombs. DH says the tape looks and sounds like "the bombing of Epcot". Regardless, I loved the location.

I was going to ask a similiar question about room preferences. We are renting from a DVCer in April. He made our reservations October 10 and when he did so he requested 3rd floor and up, Epcot view, non -smoking. If we wanted to try to specify one of the rroms that was mentioned above..for ex. 561, 559, 461, etc. can we? In other words is there a room assignor phone number or a place where we could fax a list of possible preferences? Or do you just go with the original request that was made when reservations were made? Thanks for all of the great information already!

Well, alot of people I think do fax the resort or room controller like 3 days ahead of time. But I've also read that it doesn't make too terribly much difference as long as you have MS note your requests to begin with. So you could call the DVC member you are renting the points from and have him or her add a specific location request to the ressie. From what I also understand though, they take the first request you've asked for (like non-smoking) and make that one top priority and the rest are just a bounus if they are able to grant them. So if I were you, I'd have the member note your location request along with the others you've made and when you check in, make a verbal request as well. It can't hurt.

Best of luck!:)
