I have been given the task of organizing the field trips for our High School Juniors this year. We will be going to Disney in May next year and I'm trying to figure out the best way to price things for my students. Last year, our sister school stayed at Buena Vista Suites which included a free breakfast. Looking at prices for next year, that hotel is $10 more than staying at ASM or ASMu but with no breakfast. We will have a charter bus and be going to Kennedy Space Center one of the days on our trip so the free Disney transportation doesn't really work for possibly 50 people in our group.

While I really really want to have the kids stay on Disney property, the food costs of breakfast alone make the two choices(Buena Vista Suites and a Value) offset each other.

I'm not completely sure this is the right board for the question, but has anyone organized student trips? What has your experience been with them? Should we stay off-site and get the free breakfast or is there enough at ASM or ASMu to offset the breakfast cost?

Thanks!

Btw, I've stayed at CBR, POR, and POP so I am familiar with the perks of the resorts, just not from a big group vantage point.

This (finding and booking acceptable accommodations) sounds like a job for a TA. Especially a Disney Travel Expert. They can sift out all the different variables and give you a couple of choices on and off site. But if you want to do it yourself you can call Disney Group Reservations (under Contact Us on the main web page). You may get a discount if you will book more than 10 rooms. Have never done this myself, so I have no idea what they may be able to do for you, but it can't hurt to call.

Having taken multiple trips with a HS Marching Band, I highly recommend using a travel agent specializing in Disney Youth Group Travel. They have access to discounts.

We have used several, but favor Summit Tour and Travel.

I just emailed Disney to see what kinds of rates we can get. Thanks for all the replies so far.
