Stuck on rides...

Splash Mountain kept breaking down last week a bunch. Good thing I didn't get stuck on it when it got back up and running..It was my last ride before heading back to the hotel to head to the airport.

The only ride that i have been stuck on for a significant time period was BTMR. We got stuck going up the hill in the cave where the tracks are broken and keep going up into the mountain. We were escorted off of the coaster through the underbelly of the ride. We were told not to take any pictures or to ever speak of it to anyone. It was just your normal dirt grime and grease but it was a really cool experience. Other than that our breakdowns have only been a few minutes at a time.

Test track for about 10 minutes and DH and DD were stuck on Expedition Everest for about 20 minutes and then had to get out of the ride vehicle and walk down some stairs.

We got stuck on Ellen's Energy Adventure for about 40 mins and we were still in the beginning dinosaur section. They eventually reversed the cars a little bit, but we were let out in front of the dinos and walked back. My mother made us go on it again on our last day because she had to see the whole ride (she loved the whole pre-ride movie).

I've been stuck on a lot of rides. The worst was TGMR...in the hieroglyphics scene. The soundtrack! UGH! I still don't like that room.

Disney should really cut the sound when people are stuck. I realized while I was sitting there why the military uses certain things to play when they're trying to get to people. It does drive you mad and would be torturous in less than an hour.

Test Track has sections I hate being stuck in, but none of them have gone on as long or driven me crazy in the way TGMR did. Spaceship Earth got me stalled next to the little kid that calls out about his papers. That was my second worst. I still look at that kid and am glad they turned him around. :)

The best was Soarin. It stopped at almost the very last second...when they're in Disneyland. We got to sit and swing our feet. Then they lowered us and we waited a short time for them to fix whatever it was. When it was done being stuck, they re-started it and we got a bonus showing. :) Wish that would happen every time!

A few years ago we got stuck on The Great Movie Ride. We were stuck right by Tarzan. It was almost 30 minutes before they shut off his yell. Then we were stuck for about 30 minutes more. We missed Fantasmic that night.

POTC for about 35 minute right at the begining before you go down the hill, at the skeleton pirate stuck to the wall w/ the bird on his hat. The narrorator says over AND OVER Dead Men tell no tells. over and over and over. It was DS's first ride at 3 and he was already skittish to go on but he did really well. I was probably flipping out more over the possibility of him flipping out than he was rattled by it but we all hate that part of the ride now and cringe when we hear that phrase.

DD and I got stuck at the launch of RnRC. The little girl in front of us did not want to go. They had to shut down the ride, take her out and then restart. About an hour total. Then the music did not play so we rode RnRC in silence. They sent us back to the front of the line to ride again immediatly with music.

DW and DD got stuck on Splash a few years back. They were trying to get it back up and running while they sat there with no music or animals talking. The best part was that each time the moved a "car" they announced over the loud speakers "Dropping a Log!":rotfl2:

We got stuck on Haunted Mansion in November. Luckily it wasn't for very long -- maybe 5 or 10 minutes? I spent the time wondering who would freak out first, my young kid who really didn't want to go on the ride in the first place or claustrophobic me.

We also seem to get stuck on Buzz every other time we ride it, which is unfortunately a lot because my kid loves it. We got stuck on it yesterday for at least 10 minutes -- we were all Galactic Heroes by the time we got off. :thumbsup2

We got stuck on TT this year - 40 minutes being the next person to get in the car, then a further 30 minuted in the car. They cm were advising that it was inclement weather but it was not raining so i'm not sure what weather stops the ride. We we not offered any fast-passes.

I got stuck on Splash Mountain during MNSSHP last fall for over an hour. We also had to be walked out backstage. For our trouble, they gave us some candy :confused3

I actually complained at Guest Services because we paid for a 5 hour party and for 20% of the time, the four of us could do nothing. The girl at guest services was super nice and she said I wasn't the only one to complain about it (since the staff at SM was not very understanding or good about the whole thing). She gave us each 3 fastpasses we could use at any park. I told her THAT was definitely worth the hour we lost at the party. In fact, it totally brightened our whole mood! We enjoyed the rest of the party and then we used the fastpasses at HS. We did have to pick up the fastpasses at the guest services of the park we wanted to use them at but it was still great. They totally understood that I was upset that my time was taken away so they were able to give me time back :thumbsup2

I have been stuck on other rides but usually just for a few minutes. The longest other than that time on Splash was on Mission Space. We sat there for 15 minutes in that little cage. DH and I were joking around the whole time while DS told us we were going to get us in trouble. But we were just trying to lighten the mood because it was kind of scary sitting there!

I am curious, when RnRC gets stuck, is it only at the beginning or end or has anyone actually been stuck in the middle of the roller coaster? I can't imagine going that fast and coming to a stop.

We've been stuck on almost everything once it seems. Only once was it really long.

We went to BTRR at rope drop and were stopped right before where the boulders were. We were there for about 20 mintues and then ended up being escorted off and walked out through the underside of the mountain. We were told no picture taking. DS thought it was the coolest thing ever (ok we all thought it was cool). We got FP for it and a good for any ride FP too.

And am I the only one that's always a little nervous about the possibility of getting stuck on the mountain on EE?

Showing my age here, but my sister and I were stuck on the Eastern Airlines ride. I remember it being near the end where you're soaring through clouds and hearing, "You DO have wings... You CAN do all these things. Eastern will be your wings." interspersed with, "this ride has STOPPED... Temporarily. Please remain seated with you hands and feet inside the ride vehicle.". We heard this over and over and now it's deeply imbedded in my brain 31 years later!

Other than that I've been pretty lucky. In all the other trips I only remember being stuck one other time and it was at the end of the Malestrom for 20 minutes or so.

I am curious, when RnRC gets stuck, is it only at the beginning or end or has anyone actually been stuck in the middle of the roller coaster? I can't imagine going that fast and coming to a stop.

Once you're launched, it's pretty much all inertia after that. There may be brakes at one or two spots along the track where they could stop you, but I can't recall any. If you're asking if it's possible to be stuck upside down on RnRC, then no.

On my recent trip, got stuck at the beginning of buzz for 5-10 minutes, I was able to shoot into the first room with one of the guns (went solo) and somehow even managed to get 999999 by hitting the secret spot, though I still don't know exact where it is.

Later got stuck on Splash Mountain, it keep starting and stopping. We were probably stopped at the uphill part before the drop for 10-15 minutes.

I've been stuck so many times on so many different rides. The worst, without a doubt, was It's A Small World. The two little creepy clowns in the balloon kept waving at me over and over while that stinking music kept on going. I think we sat there about a half an hour.

Most recently we were stuck on Jungle Cruise for about 20 minutes near the waterfalls on a day we were having tropical rains. Skipper did a wonderful job keeping us entertained as we were being towed back to dock.

We were stuck on the people mover right in the part that is completely pitch black for maybe 10 minutes. We know it took them 4 minutes to get some sort of light on. Luckily my husband has the flashlight app on his phone or my kids would have really flipped out.

We were stuck on the monorail for about 15 minutes. It wouldn't have been so bad but they had to turn off the electricity (aka the air) to reset the computer. Hot, June, crowded monorail - enough said
