Do they have strollers for rent at Chankanaab? I will be going alone with ds 19 months. Should I bring my umbrella stroller? Also, is it safe to take a cab alone? dh & dd will be doing the Dolphin Discovery excursion thru DCL at 10:20 AM. They have transfers to the park. I called DCL and they said I could not take the same transportation. They also said that they had to take the transportation provided by the excursion. (the group has to stay together)

Thanks,
Wendy

I did not see any strollers for rent at Chankanaab, although since my DD is 8, I was not exactly looking either. I'd bring my own mainly bc it is a fairly long walk off the pier to the taxi stand and the shopping area (there's a shopping center right at the port). As for the cabs, it is perfectly safe to take one on your own. Cozumel is a very "civilized" large town that caters to the tourist industry. You'll be able to pick one up just as you come out of that shopping center (you are kind of forced to walk through it). There will be a someone there who will direct you to the first taxi in line. They will tell you up front what the cost will be -- for 2 of you, I believe it will cost about $7, it was $10 plus a tip for the 3 of us. Everyone spoke perfect English. When you leave Chankanaab, there is a taxi stand just outside the main pavilion. You just line up and get a cab. We loved our day there, and would do it again. You'll love the flexibiity of the taking a taxi. As we left we saw LONG lines of cruisers from the 8-10 ships in port that day waiting for their buses. We waited less than 5 minutes for a cab.
