We are brining our own stroller to save money and because it's easy to push and very comfortable for DS2. It's larger than an umbrella stroller but smaller than a jogging stroller. I think it's called an urban terrain stroller.

It's easy to fold up, compared to other large strollers, and the wheels stay folded up.

Is this too large to fit on the Disney buses? We have a rental car and we are staying at the Yacht Club. We are only visiting AK and MK. Would we be better off using our rental car, or will this stroller be okay on the bus?

It will fit on the buses if you collapse it.

Be prepared for some possibly heated responses regarding strollers on Disney buses; I saw a thread somewhere about oversized and improperly collapsed strollers becoming a real problem. If I were you, I'd just use the rental car.

I saw lots of larger strollers on the Disney buses -- it's fine. If you are really concerned with a crowded bus then you can always wait for the next one if you wish (like when you are exiting the park after a long day). You will not be the only one on the bus with a larger stroller. Go for it, if you want :thumbsup2

It will certianly fit and you should be fine. We have 3 little ones under the age of 5 and there is NO WAY that we could do WDW without our own stroller. I think we need it more for getting to and from the parks then we actually use it in the parks, so renting one has never been an option for us.

A few hints to make it a bit easier for traveling on the Disney buses and to keep your fellow vacationers a bit happier ...

1. DO NOT WAIT to fold your stroller at the door of the bus. I think this is one of the things that frustrates Non-stroller guests so much. I have a stroller and it really makes steam come out of my ears! :rotfl2:
Since you know that you are going to have to fold it anyway, do so before the bus arrives. If your little one is asleep and you don't know how long it will be until the bus arrives, by all means, let him sleep. HOWEVER, do not keep other guests from getting on the bus while you empty your stroller, try and juggle everything and then fold it, just move to the side and let others past you.
I have found that when I do this I always have more then one person offering me their seat once we finally get on the bus. Most times there are people asking if they can help me get or the kids in any way.

2. Carry an empty bag in your stroller to put all the little things that you carry in your stroller in to when you fold it. Does that make sense? Fill the bag while waiting for the bus. That way, you only have the child, the stroller and one bag to carry on and off the bus.
I am always amazed at all the stuff that accumulates in the stroller basket! :rotfl2:

3. Don't try and force yourself and your stroller on to an already overcrowded bus, just wait for the next one and be the first in line ... especially when leaving a park. The buses seem to come a bit faster at the end of the day so you shouldn't have too long of a wait.

Hope this helps! -Jennie

We took a larger stroller (ours was the Jeep Liberty Limited Urban Terrain) last time we went to WDW. We solely used Disney transportation and it worked fine. When we saw the bus coming, I would get DS out of the stroller and DH would fold it up. The only times we had problems were when DH was trying to move it out of the way on the bus and people were too impatient to give him a few seconds and would end up kicking or stumbling over it. Most times there were no problems, though. We'll be going back next week and taking it again. DS just naps better in it than any other stroller. And it provides more shade which is very important with his super-fair skin.

When DS arrived almost 10-months ago and it was time to purchase a stroller, we strategically purchased a stroller that we thought would be perfect for Disney! It was our #1 requirement! :rotfl2:

We went with a Peg Perego model that is lightweight, but folds QUICKLY and has a slim design, in our mind perfect for quickly getting on and off Disney busses. It doesn't have a ton of storage, and DH doesn't like that it lacks a "center console" for beverages and the like, but that's what keeps the weight down. For storage, we'll pack a shoulder bag and strap that over the handle of the stroller (we've already tested this at multiple visits to the mall and a trip to the zoo).

We don't want to be those people in line after park close that struggle with their strollers, so we're developing a system, sort of like a NASCAR pit crew!

It will fit fine. We took our Graco double stroller on the busses and no one had a problem with it. For your own sanity, just have a plan and have it closed up when the bus is coming. ex: my husband would take the stroller and close it up while I took the kids and got on the bus. He just stayed near the doorways with it so it was out of everyones way while we found a seat or spot. I wouldn't worry too much about what others think. Anyone with kids will understand and won't even think twice about it. You do what's good for your family, and if someone has a problem with it just tell them to have a magical day and ignore them. :wizard: Seriously, if you think about it, those people that get upset over a stroller being on the bus must not be having that great of a vacation. Hope that helps!
