Stroller Swap Cancelled

There is no stroller as it was damaged when I received it. It was missing one of the back wheels. Sorry guys! I would have loved for this to work out. We ended up renting a stroller for the week.

Thanks to JenEeyore's generous offer, I will have a stroller up for grabs after we are done with it on April 6th. Jen claims the stroller has been well loved but is in good condition. If anyone would be interested in using the stroller and then continuing the stroller swap, please let me know. I know Heartbeeps will be at the All Stars on 4/29 and has asked to use it then, would anyone else like it before heartbeeps and be willing to pass it on to her?

we will be at All Stars MOVIES 4/29 pick-up; split stay taking it to AKL on 5/3. Stroller is available either evening of 5/5 or morning of 5/6.

I think we might want to add some additional info to your original post underwood.

Proposed Guidelines:
*) current stroller keeper must take stroller to next person's resort and put it in storage
*) current stroller keeper must tag the stroller with the name and resort and check in date of the incoming stroller requester (i.e., Minnie Mouse, All Stars Movies, check in 4/29/2008)
*) current stroller keeper must get a receipt for the storage of the stroller and provide the receipt info to the incoming stroller requester
*) current stroller keeper should post back to this thread when they've released the stroller and advise on the condition of the stroller (if there's a problem)

what do you think? do you think we'll need a ressie # for the "incoming stroller requester" like the fridge swap folks?????? Also, what do you think of doing our best to keep this thread near the top of the heap?

This sounds like a good way to set it up and yet it would be good to keep it at the top.
So we will be at POR 6/29/08 to 7/5/08, if this is good just let us know.

Good luck with the stroller swap. Just be aware that sometimes people don't follow through with passing it along and the stroller gets lost. It also was passed along dirty.

That is what happened to the last stroller swap on the DIS.

well, just my luck.

I have been monitoring Craigs List and bidding on ebay for the past couple of months for a Maclaren umbrella stroller and TODAY (The day after a stroller swap is initiated), I WIN MY BID! It figures!

I placed my bid days before Jen's offer of the free one of course; the listing closed today on Easter Sunday so I think that's why there wasn't as much competition to bid up the price. Geez, I [almost] saved some money!

So the bottom line is that I don't need the stroller swap starting on 4/29! It's up for grabs by someone else!

May 12th - 3 nights at Hard Rock Hotel at Universal
3 night Disney cruise
May 18th - Polynesian (not sure of check out date)

they can either collect it at HRH on 5/12 or the Poly on 5/18 so please put her on the list (I've asked her to re-confirm still wanting it on this thread as well).

I know these dates are already taken; however, if anyone gets a gift from a stroller fairy like we did, then keep them in mind (perhaps a waiting list should be started as well??)

Ok all, I finally got pics off camera (ok, not so bad since we just got home Tuesday night from the long drive).

Here are 3 pics of the stroller that I left to start the swap. It is NOT NEW. It is about 5 yrs old. The brand is Kolcraft. It collapses with one hand, and has a small canopy top and a basket underneath. I also left a netting bag that hooked onto the back to hold extra bags etc. It has a tray (the front has gotten scraped up from collapsing, gate checks on airlines etc). It has been well loved, but has always been sturdy. Our son has used it from the time he was about 1 until 5 yrs old. We had 2 strollers, so not our primary one, but more for vacations since it was easy to get on and off busses.

It will be fun to see who all is using it. DS was a little sad to leave it, but I promised him that it would have more fun at Disney than back home in our garage. Hope it lasts for quite a while so it can help a few families out!
