Stroller Rental

Anyone rent a stroller from Disney, or Orlando Stroller Rentals (or anyone else)? I have a 2 yo, 4 yo, and a 7 yo. The 4 yo still gets cranky, and would need a stroller as the day goes on. I am contemplating bringing my double stroller from home, or renting. Does anyone know what it more cost effective (Disney, or outside firm). Or, if I am better off bringing my own on the plane?

Thanks for the advise.

Stroller prices went up last year and they are quite pricey. I can't remember the exact price, but I want to say a double was like $28.00 a day. The bad side to that is you would still have to wake up a sleeping child to take to the buses or car. If you bring your own stroller, you would at least have it with you both inside and out of the parks and at the hotel.

The folks at Owner's Locker have just launched Magic Strollers http://www.magicstrollers.com/

Our kids are way beyond the stroller age but we are Founding Members of OL & based on our exerience with them I would highly endorse any company John & Brian were running. :thumbsup2

They are commited to providing outstanding service & value. You'll find tons of raves over on the DVC boards.

Thanks both of you for the info, WOW, $28 daily for a Double? We are going for a week! Thats $200!! You can almost buy one for that much!! Problem solved. I'll take my own. Plus, I can have it for DTD.

OMG!!!!! I just checked out your link!! They are so cheap! Will they rent to me? I am not an owner, and do they deliver to a resort?

THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE GREAT INFO!!!

Absolutely! They will rent to anyone, they are just offering OL members an additional discount.

Yes, they will deliver to a resort (and not just WDW resorts). You can also have them deliver to one resort & pick up at another.

The Magic Strollers website will (we've been told) eventually operate like the OL site where you select all options on-line. For now, all arrangements are being made via phone or email.

With OL, I get a text message telling me when my locker has been delivered (so I know it's waiting for me) & picked up (so I know my "stuff" is safe & sound).

They are GREAT! Can't say enough good things about them & am totally confident that magic Strollers will be run the same way.

Thanks Fellow Jerseygirl! Hopefully, you will be there for Jersey Week this November as well!!!

I just emailed Magic Strollers to see how it would work for our stay. Those rates look like a good deal...but are you being charged per day or per night? :confused3 I also asked if they offer any type of insurance, as those are pretty expensive strollers to replace if they're lost or damaged.

If anyone's interested, I'll post and let you know what they say. :)

Yes, if you could post what they tell you, or send me a private message, that would be awesome. They pic. of you baby is SO ADORABLE. It made my day!!

When my kids were 4 & 2, we brought reclining umbrella strollers from home. They were very similar to the ones that are sold at WDW.

Thanks Donna...she's a silly girl! LOL My friend said she looked like one of The Incredibles. :)

By the way, I have a single Baby Jogger, and they are great strollers. My DDs will be 5 and 1, and we plan on renting one there, just to avoid the having to bring one (in the car or plane), but we like the option of being able to bring it back to the resort (unlike the park rentals).

I will definitely let you know what they say. I've heard nothing but good thing about Orlando Stroller Rentals, but since the strollers both companies rent are the same, I'll go with who ever is least expensive!

Thanks, just let me know if you can! PM or post here.

I've been going back and forth on this and decided to buy a sit and stand type stroller on craigslist and re-sell it when we get home. I definitely won't bring our double - too heavy - and my 4 year old is kind of big for it. I also don't want to schlep around 2 singles when one (or both) will be empty for big chunks of the day. A sit and stand is the best solution for us. Since my kids are older (3 and 4.5) we're looking for the Joovy brand because they have a higher weight limit and seem to be better for older kids.

I just got off the phone with Magic Strollers. They rent by the night and there IS theft insurance available for an additional charge. They were great to talk to. I think I'll be reserving one for our January trip!

Thanks! So it looks like $25 for the first night and $9 each additional night for a double, is that right? Any idea how much the insurance runs?

I got an email back from at Susan at Magic Strollers. As mentioned before, its $25 for your first night and $9 each additional night (plus tax). Deliveries are made before 11:00 on check-in day and pickups are made beginning at 2:00 on check out day.

They offer theft insurance at $25.00. The total amount is charged to your credit card 14 days prior to you arrival. Cancellation must be made prior to 48 hours before arrival for full refund, 50% of the rental amount will be refunded if cancellation is made 48 hours prior to arrival or less.

For us, ends up bring the same price to rent from Orlando Stroller Rental, but its nice to have another option.
