Just saw the note that prices were increased.... what were they before?

We were just there and I keep thinking it was something like $8.00 per day for the single (with multi-day), but I have got to be wrong because a $5.00 jump per day seems ridiculous! Anyone remember what it was?

Thanks!

OMG! What are they thinking!!!!

I just saw the increases too. Old prices were $10 for single per day ($8 length of stay rate) and $18 for double ($16 length of stay rate).

New prices for a single are $15 per day/ $13 length of stay rate. And a double - all I can say is WOW!! - $31 per day/ $27 length of stay rate!!!!

IMO - that is ridiculous!

ETA: I really hope that they are replacing the strollers for that cost. When we were there last summer, we had to return strollers 3 times because they were in such bad shape. The MK ones were the worst. Dirty and very worn. For the price they are going to be charging, the strollers should be immaculate (lined with gold even, LOL!)

Wow! I'm glad we don't need the strollers anymore!! We loved the convenience of the double, both for carrying the kids and our stuff, but at those prices, yikes!

WOW!! What a jump in prices!! I guess I will be bringing my own umbrella stroller from home for DS1

I will NEVER pay that price. I was thinking the old prices were high!

That definately means we'll be taking our double- I was considering just taking the single and hiring a single if/when my middle 2 wanted a stroller ride (youngest 3 are age 5, 4 and 1) but at those prices I think we'll be taking the double or 2 singles, entirely insane- I could take the hire fees that would cost me and buy a really good stroller after a 14 day stay!

Holy cow! Well, that blows our plans for bringing one for our younger boy and renting a double for my older boy to share with his cousin. At that rate, it's cheaper for me to buy my older boy his own umbrella, just in case.

They are out of their minds!! We usually rent a double for our boys, but they almost doubled the prices. We will not be renting a stroller form WDW, at that rate it's much cheaper to buy a brand new good quality double stroller.
$27 X 7= 189.00 !!!!!!

Where did you see the new price information? I just checked the disneyworld website, and it still lists the old prices; $10 for single and $18 for double with a $2/day savings with length of stay rentals.

Well thats just crazy! I thought the old prices were a ripoff! I guess I am glad I did splurge for two Mac's for the trip- I think ds will be under 55 lbs until he is at least driving :lmao: so we will be able to just use them for any future trips. I always thought by our next trip (when the kids are more like 4 and 6) a disney double might be all we need. NOT for that price!

That is how much per day I spend in lodging for a 2 bedroom condo through SkyAuction!!!!

I have never rented a Disney stroller. For $189 you can buy a nice double stroller and KEEP it!

That's what I thought!! I can't believe that much of an increase was necessary! :confused3 Last time was the first time we didn't take a stroller (cuz DD3 didn't need it for airport, hotel, DTD, etc.- just the long days at the parks). We loved having one less thing in our room and to hall on/off the buses. DH didn't like the $8.00 per day. Now, there's no way he'd pay $13.00 per day and I have to agree! We'll be bringing ours again. :sad2: I hope they see a decrease in rentals and reduce the price to a reasonable amount!

The prices were at the top of the main DIS home page. It says effective April 6 so if you looked yesterday, maybe that hadn't changed it yet.

Welp, that seals the deal for me bringing DDs stroller!!! I was going back and forth b/c DD hasn't sat in a stroller for 2 years now!!! I was thinking we could just rent one if we needed one. Uhh... nope!

I won't need it in the airport and most likely we won't use it the first day. Can you attach a DME tag to a stroller and just have it delivered to your room, or does that apply to suitcases only?

Great (megga sacarism there) thought we had the stroller debate figured out here...now I don't know???:confused3 :headache:

Traveling w/ 4 kids...our 18 mo in a stroller from home, then renting a single or maybe a double on a few days when we plan to be in the parks longer (my middle DD is 5 but tires easy and pushing her along instead of her lagging behind or complaining is worth $10 and plus my DS has special needs and sometimes his feet start to hurt so maybe a double...)

but NOW w/ the increase....if true! Tha't more $ than I think I want to budget for stroller rental....have to re-think this again...not fun

Thanks for the thread to keep us informed!:thumbsup2

We leave in 27 days and have planned all along to rent two doubles. Now I have no clue what to do, we could never afford that. Does anyone know a place to buy double joggers @ a discount?
Sabrina:confused3

Daggit. I just sold our single at the last consignment sale because we never use it. Now I wish I kept it for Disney. $65 is ridiculous. I think we will pcik up a small umbrella stoller. I just hate lugging it around, but I will not pay that for a stroller.

I just checked Disney's Guest Services, and it still shows the "old" rate. Hmmm.....

Well if that's the case- spendid! But I think they just must not have updated it yet since it's not the 6th. I am surprised though that since it is so close that they haven't added a "as of 4/6/08" clause for those traveling soon and making plans. If anyone is researching and making decisions now, they're going to have a shock when they get down there! :scared1:

I still have a few days left from my last trip- the vouchers aren't stamped with a date. Do you think they will honor them?

This new pricing is outrageous! It will really cut into our souvenir / snack budget.
:headache: :confused3  :sad2: :sad1: :scared:
