Hi, I am going to Disney this October !!:cool1:
however, both nephews are big (tall and overweight), about 105 pounds each. They are 7 & 8 years old and I know they will NOT want to walk at the end of the day.
What do you recommend when it comes to strollers? Will Disney strollers be fitting? :confused3

Are they disabled? Maybe the disabilities board on here would be a better place for advice. I hope you have a great trip!

I am 5'2 125lbs and I fit in the strollers at Magic Kingdom. :rotfl: Dont ask me how I know this. and no I wasn't pushed around in it. I wouldn't recommend putting anyone over 100 lbs in those strollers and pushing them around.... But seriously my 8 year old nephew would be horrified if I ever thought about putting him in a stroller. Take afternoon breaks. They'll live.

Ok, I'm going to be as kind as I can but 7 and 8 year olds should not be in a stroller. They for sure won't fit in the park strollers. I understand that every child is different in terms of their stamina or weight but seriously, if the only way they are going to survive the parks is to be pushed around, that's kind of crazy. Plan the day in small chunks. Take lots of breaks. Drink water. Make sure they are wearing good shoes. Take a pool break in the afternoon. They may even benefit from a mid day nap. Please don't put them in strollers- it's sad.

You may want to consider a wheelchair instead. The weight limit for the Disney strollers is much less than your nephews.

Pics or it didn't happen;)

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the 7 and 8 year olds are not 5' 2". Thus, their mass is located in different places than yours. I can't imagine a child that size squeezing into a Disney stroller.

I agree with this.

Also, if you think they will be tired at the end of the day, what about you? Are you going to be prepared to push around 200 pounds on your way out of the park, having an even more difficult time with the crowds because of the stroller? If it were me, I would stay in the park until they were done and then leave, even if it means only doing 1/2 days in the park.

That would be great advice, except she didn't ask for it.

The weight limit on a double Disney stroller is 100lbs, 50 for a single.

The only strollers you'll find that hold that much weight are going to be very expensive.

This is the best answer I can think of without offending anyone over the topic of strollers/children of varying weight. Definitely consider a wheelchair. Strollers are meant to hold small children with weight limits.

My daughter fit in the seat of my grandson's stroller (her son)- granted her legs were dragging the ground, but when you want a place to sit, you want a place to sit!!

I however, seemed to have something hanging over the sides when I tried.;)

Don't you know how this Board operates? When you post one question, you are really asking that question, plus four more that you didn't ask. :teacher:

OP have you asked your nephews about being in a stroller? I would get their take on it before you fork over cash to rent one or two. If stamina is the reason you think they will need the stroller there are ways around that, utilize the train at MK, take afternoon breaks to soak and swim in the pool or cut your days a little bit shorter.

We just got back from Disney and my husband logged us at 42 miles of walking in 5 days. It is no joke and we were all dead on our feet and that was with breaks but you gotta try and rest when you can. Its hard for anyone to do that kind of walking.

Are you sure they won't be ok walking? They are young, if they're healthy then you might be wrong about them not making it...
but if they're really going to be unable to walk, i think a wheelchair might be the only option - they're too young to do an ECV.
Maybe do a trial run at a local zoo or something...

Oh my, I've been around these boards for years and years. I know exactly how they work. I was here when you could "discuss"....shhhh....politics....

I may look like a newbie, but I took a break for several years and couldn't remember my password or name anymore and I had a new email address.

Thousands upon thousands of brilliant posts just laying out there somewhere that I can't access. Such a shame.;)
